The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is still months away – but fans have already picked their winner.

The UK – whose act has not been officially confirmed but appears to have been ‘leaked’ – might want to brace themselves for Malta’s entry.

Popstar Miriana Conte is heading to the annual singing competition in Basel, Switzerland with her song Kant and it’s giving Brat summer on steroids.

Judging by the response to the 24-year-old’s entry, it might be game over already for the UK and every other country.

On X, @harry_shumjr predicted: ‘Malta getting their first win I fear.’

@willyleeadams shared: ‘Europe is talking about KANT. Total pleasure watching Miriana Conte do things her way at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Original, outré, unexpected — this was a performance to remember! Bravo and see you in Basel.

@gaynerd98 praised: ‘Miriana Conte is truly a mastermind because the amount of camp she was able to fit in a 3 minute performance is astounding.’

@lipaxagb declared simply: ‘Queen.’

Echoing their sentiment, @redtwoneaaj raved: ‘I am overjoyed.’

Hours after Miriana was chosen as Malta’s Eurovision entry she was involved in a car crash and was taken to hospital – but fortunately did not suffer any serious injuries.

Sharing a picture of herself on a stretcher, she jokingly said ‘diva down’ and reflected on her ‘surreal’ 48 hours.

On Instagram, Miriana wrote: ‘This journey has been an emotional rollercoaster – teaching me discipline, perseverance, and resilience.

‘Against all odds, every doubt, every horrible comment, every criticism I faced.. I can proudly say that I made it.

‘KANT wouldn’t have been possible without every single one of you that believed in us, our vision and what this song can bring to this little island whom we are so proud of.’

She added: ‘Controversial song? Maybe. Bold outfit? Possibly But we did it. This win is for MALTA. Let’s serve KANT in Basel.’

Meanwhile, earlier this week it was claimed that a girl band who found fame on The Voice UK will be doing the honours for the UK.

As first reported by The Sun, Remember Monday will be flying our flag—something two Radio 1 presenters also let slip today before an official announcement could be shared.

Speaking on air, DJs Natalie O’Leary and Vicky Hawkesworth had a super candid chat about the upcoming contest, with Vicky beginning: ‘Now, we’ve got to talk a little about Eurovision because we’ve gone a different route this week, [I mean] this year.’

She explained: ‘So this year, they’re going for a country theme and country is having its moment still, which I’m really glad to see; we saw Beyonce win album of the year at the Grammys for Cowboy Carter, and now this girl band, which are called Remember Monday, are going to be representing us at Eurovision this year.’

Remember Monday also appeared to hint at the Eurovision on social media: ‘‘We have been super quiet because we have been busy working on something hehehe! 👀🪩2025 we are very very ready for ya! See ya next year you bunch of legends.’

The band is made up of Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele, who took part in The Voice in 2019 and have performed at British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.

They already boast a following of 524,000 loyal fans on TikTok and 76,000 on Instagram.

Last year, Olly Alexander, 34, represented the UK finishing in 18th position with a respectable 46 points from the jury vote, but 0 in the public vote.

The competition was won by Swiss entry Nemo and their song The Code in Malmo, Sweden, last May.
