Pyjamas are, quite frankly, my most favourite item of clothing, though I’m torn to pick one favourite set I own because I have a lot.
In my style book, you can never have too many PJs in your nightwear drawer. Some may opt for matching sets, others mix and match styles, or an oversize t-shirt to wear as a nightie, but whatever your preference there is no denying there is plenty of choice out there to cosy up in.
Pyjamas do not just have to be for bed, as you can wear them as loungewear throughout the day too, though some designs are stylish enough to wear out the house too – I’m looking at you Daily Sleeper and Damson Madder.
While some may opt for long sleeve and long leg trouser designs, others may prefer the freedom of a short sleeve or sleeveless pyjama top and shorts. Some like a thermal design, others lightweight linen, or creations made from temperature regulating fabrics to wear all year long.
For as long as I can remember I have always loved pyjamas, and the minute I would get home from school, and even work now I’m older, the first thing I do is slip into fresh pyjamas – there is simply no better feeling.
I own a selection of every style to see me through the week, as well as all the seasons. Call me crazy, but I have to wear pyjamas in the summer months, as well as winter, even if it is a cami top and short set. And there are certain retailers I go back to time and time again because they nail their bedwear.

I live in H&M’s Viscose-blend Pyjamas, which I owen in numerous colourways, because they provide the necessary warmth and coverage for the colder months, yet I don’t overheat in them either. The long sleeve shirt offers a relaxed fit that is not too structured.Similarly, the wide leg bottoms skim the legs for optimum comfort. The trousers feature an elasticated waist, which stay put throughout the night, but do not dig in. The soft fabric is gentle on my sensitive skin and breathable too. I am a restless sleeper and roll around, but the buttons on the shirt do not unfasten during my slumber, which is a big green flag. Plus, they look super stylish and more premium than the sub £30 price tag – I’d even liken this set to SKIMS. Available in sizes extra small to XXXXL.
