ACTRESS Renée Zellweger is finally back on our screens – but one thing is certain, she’s had more transformations than her weight-obsessed character has had big knickers.
Now that Valentine’s Day is here, many film fans will be flocking to the cinema, desperate to see the double-Oscar winner star in the fourth Bridget Jones film – Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

She recently starred on the new 2025 cover of British Vogue[/caption]
Not only are we sure that it will be the perfect Galentine’s watch, but something else that is also clear is that the 55-year-old actress looks better than ever in her leading role.
Many fans now find the Hollywood star’s changing face over the years as intriguing as her tumultuous love life.
Renée’s beauty transformation has long been on the tip of many fans’ mouths – and was discussed amongst viewers just last month, when the blonde beauty posed for a British Vogue photoshoot.
But whilst Renée sported sharp suits and short blonde hair, some eagle-eyed fans accused the star of undergoing cosmetic surgery.
One Vogue follower wrote: “A stunning lady that for some reason has been made unrecognisable? Don’t get it?”
Another added: “My God I hope you did that to her face in production and it’s not permanent.”
Whilst a third commented: “Wow – surgery is a bit out of control.”
But this isn’t the first time Renée has sparked surgery rumours. Over the years, much has been said about the award-winning actress’ looks, with changes at times making her “unrecognisable.”
Here, Fabulous takes a look inside Renée’s changing face – from the eye-watering amount of cash she spent on liquid facelifts, to the affordable beauty tool she swears by to look snatched.
£97k on liquid facelifts
Now that Bridget Jones is back, a plastic surgeon has suggested that before filming her latest stint as the self-conscious Bridget, Renée may have modified her face further.
According to Westreich, plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Westreich, the Texas native may have shelled out $121,000 [£97,153] over twenty years on two liquid facelifts.
He told The US Sun: “Two years ago, something went a little haywire.

According to a plastic surgeon, Renée, pictured here in 1999, has spent £97k on liquid facelifts[/caption]
He thinks Renée, pictured here in 2001, has also had Botox and filler[/caption]
Renée, pictured here in 2002, denied having surgery on her eyes[/caption]
“She had probably been getting very heavy filler added to cheeks and lips – or what we call a liquid facelift.”
Westreich, who had not personally treated the star, suggested that Renée started cosmetic treatments in 2005.
He claimed: “In the nineties, Renée looked like she was doing standard stuff. She was not getting her face modified at first.
“By 2005, she had started Botox and a little bit of lip filler which looks to have increased in 2010. The significant change to her face came in 2014.”
In 2014, Renée raised eyebrows on the red carpet of Elle magazine’s Women In Hollywood Awards, where she appeared to have wider, open eyes.
Renée put the 2014 look down to a change of lifestyle after stepping away from a hectic schedule that “didn’t allow for taking care of myself”.
By 2005, she had started Botox and a little bit of lip filler which looks to have increased in 2010. The significant change to her face came in 2014
Dr. Richard Westreich
She said at the time: “Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I did not make a decision to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes.
“I’m glad folks think I look different. I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows.”
Botox and filler
Not only does Westreich predict this actress to have splashed the cash on liquid facelifts, but he also said there could have been an eyelid suture procedure, Botox, and now filler.

Renée, pictured here in 2015, may also have had a skin resurfacing procedure[/caption]
During the 2020 awards season, Renée hit the red carpet for her Judy Garland role with flowing, silky smooth skin.
Westreich added: “By 2020, Renée was possibly still doing lip filler and perhaps got a skin resurfacing procedure.
“After that, she was still doing the Botox and her lips a little bit, when it was all the rage to have super full lips.
“By 2023, Renée looked to have had two liquid facelifts. After that, it would have been difficult to get rid of it all.”
But according to Westreich, Renée may have now spent $1,000 [£803] on “dissolving” any filler.

He continued: “She may have had some of the filler dissolved, and I suspect she has pulled back on the Botox.
“This could have been in time for the Bridget Jones filming in London.
“It appears Renée may be trying to look more Bridget Jones-like. After all, Bridget Jones has real lips.”
£17 beauty tool
Although it appears that Renée may have had a little helping hand to alter her appearance for her movie roles, it turns out that she also swears by a purse-friendly beauty tool for wrinkle-free skin.
According to Renée’s make-up artist Dana Hamel, who is the queen behind many of Renée’s red carpet looks, including for the recent Bridget Jones press tour, she uses a beauty gadget to get her signature glow.

Renée is said to use a Kansa wand for glowing skin[/caption]
Speaking to Harper‘s Bazaar, Dana said: “I learned this technique when I was studying in India. A Kansa wand is a facial massage device made of wood and Kansa metal designed to balance doshas, chakras, and the skin’s pH level – it’s Ayurveda’s answer to jade rollers and gua sha.”
Dana explained that she uses the want with a facial oil on Renée’s skin, to stimulate circulation and remove any built-up toxins in the lymph nodes – resulting in glowing, radiant skin.
The pure Kansa is said to be a sacred mix of copper and tin, and lowers and balances skin’s pH.
Whilst there are many of these beauty tools on the market, if you’re looking for a cheap and cheerful option, you’ll find an Ayurvedic 2in1 Kansa Wellness Wand on Amazon, for just £16.99.

Posh skincare products
In addition to her handy beauty gadget, the award-winning actress is also said to be very particular with her skincare products.
According to her make-up artist Dana, Renée often uses skincare by QMS Medicosmetics, a German-born skincare brand, founded in 1986 by an incredibly well-respected traumatology specialist, Dr Med. Erich Schulte.
Renée swears by the collagen-focused products within the range, all of which contain moisture-retaining hyaluronic acid.

She also loves QMS Medicosmetics skincare[/caption]
But some of her favourite buys from the brand, including the QMS Medicosmetics Active Exfoliant and the QMS Medicosmetics Day Collagen, don’t come cheap – and cost £73 a pop.
Not only does Renée loves the products for bright and smooth skin, but also for a radiant red carpet complexion, the star loves the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Highlighter + Balm Duo in ‘GOLDEN’, which comes with an eye-watering price tag of £45.
Get moving and go outside
Whilst Renée is notoriously private and often shuns showbiz events, she has been candid about the wellness habits and free hacks she swears by for a youthful appearance.
Not only does she exercise for mental health, but she also finds peace in nature too.

Renée stressed the importance of getting outside and exercising[/caption]
She praised running as beneficial to her mental health[/caption]
Renée previously told the Mail Online: “Wherever I move, or wherever I’m stationed, or whatever phase of life I’m in, the gym is my common denominator.
“I move to LA? I find my gym. I get to Santa Fe? I find my gym. In New York? Found my gym.”
And her reason for training is much deeper than surface level, as she told Glamour that working out and exercising is crucial for her mental health.
She confessed: “I have a lifestyle that involves keeping my sanity by going to the gym.”
And it’s running that holds a special place in her heart, as she claimed to find it the best way to connect with her inner self.
“It’s my outlet, the one thing I do during the day that is mine and mine alone. I don’t want to work with a trainer, and I don’t want to go with friends to the gym. It’s my solitude, and I need it,” Renée stressed.
I wasn’t healthy. I wasn’t taking care of myself. I was the last thing on my list of priorities
Renée Zellweger
As well as running, Renée also loves spending time outside, whether that’s gardening, finding herself digging deep into the soil, or enjoying the mindful practices of planting and weeding.
When discussing what she got up to during the Coronavirus lockdown, she told Harper’s Bazaar: “I was outside every day, building things and planting things.
“Nature does what it does and, you know, the squirrels and I were at war. Like: “Why you got to dig that big hole there?”
“I’m out there every day with my shovel and my bucket.”
Getting the balance right
Not only does she swear by moving and spending time outside, but she also is a firm believer on balance.
Renée previously told Harper’s Bazaar that she makes an effort to not be glued to her phone, adding that she doesn’t ‘look at my phone sometimes until six o’clock at night’.

And for this star, pictured earlier this year, it’s all about balance[/caption]
Setting boundaries and spending time off of her phone are important to the star[/caption]
And when Renée took a conscious step back from the limelight in 2010, before returning to Hollywood six years later, during this brief break from the public eye, she began seeing a therapist who helped her find herself again.
She told Vulture: “I wasn’t healthy. I wasn’t taking care of myself. I was the last thing on my list of priorities.
“[My therapist] recognised that I spent 99% of my life as the public persona and just a microscopic crumb of a fraction in my real life. I needed to not have something to do all the time, to not know what I’m going to be doing for the next two years in advance.
Renee Zellweger’s career so far

Across her three-decade career, Renee Zellweger has won such accolades as two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards and four Golden Globe Awards.
Here is a look at some of her most memorable roles
- The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1995, “Jenny”): The fourth installment in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise, this slasher film marked Renee’s first starring role.
- Jerry Maguire (1996, “Dorothy Boyd”): Renee starred opposite Tom Cruise in this classic sports-comedy drama.
- Nurse Betty (2000, “Betty Sizemore”): For her portrayal of the title character, Renee received a Golden Globe.
- Bridget Jones franchise (2001 – present, “Bridget Jones”): The actress adopts an English accent to play the title character in this franchise. The fourth instalment, titled Bridget Jones: Mad About A Boy is due to be released in February 2025.
- Cold Mountain (2003, “Ruby”): Renee starred opposite Jude Law and Nicole Kidman in this period war drama film. She received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
- Judy (2019, “Judy Garland”): In this biographical drama, Renee portrayed the legendary actress Judy Garland, most notably known for the Wizard of Oz. She received her second Academy Award for her work in this film.
“I wanted to allow for some accidents. There had to be some quiet for the ideas to slip in.”
And during this time, she took time out and learnt more about balance, as she told The i: “I learnt boundaries. I learnt that “no” is a good word to use a lot more frequently.”
Cutting carbs
To ensure her face (and body) stays slender, it’s been reported that Renée regularly follows a strict diet.
When the actress is eager to slim down, she is expected to eat a diet of mainly tuna or cold meat, coupled with dressing, salads and raw vegetables.

Equally, her diet has ensured her face stays looking youthful[/caption]
Renée has also reportedly followed a macrobiotic regime of fish, rice and vegetables in the past.
Macrobiotic diets consist of low-fat, high-fibre foods, with grains typically making up about 50 per cent of each meal.
Angela Walker, a nutritional therapist at the London health clinic Fabulous Nutrition, previously told Mail Online that such diets are indeed nutritious – but restricting food comes with its own risks.
Angela explained: “A balanced diet is crucial for keeping your muscles defined and a macrobiotic diet is very effective at this. But — as with all restrictive diets — you need to be careful about skipping food groups.
“The amino acids in proteins, such as fish, eggs and meat, really help to build muscle, so it looks to me like Renée’s been eating lots of these to achieve this sinewy look. Her slim frame also suggests she has been restricting her portions.
“Eat plenty of well-sourced, organic proteins, leafy vegetables and whole grains, such as brown rice, in combination with exercise if you want to get a similar silhouette.
“But always be careful to eat a wide variety of different foods to get the best possible mix of fatty acids, vitamins and minerals that your body needs to function healthily and effectively.”
