The Afghanistan cricket team arrived in Lahore, to participate in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The team was escorted from the airport to their hotel under tight security and will begin training after a day of rest.
This marks Afghanistan’s maiden appearance in the prestigious tournament.
Afghanistan will play their first match against South Africa on February 21 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. They will then face England on February 26 and Australia on February 28, both matches being held in Lahore.
Spinner AM Ghazanfar has been ruled out due to a back injury sustained during a recent tour of Zimbabwe. He is expected to be sidelined for at least four months.
