If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the next Harlan Coben adaptation, there’s not very long to wait.
In recent years 12 of the American author’s works have been adapted for screen, with several notably becoming Netflix hits.
These came after he signed a five-year multi-million-dollar deal with the streaming service in 2018, which stipulated that 14 of his novels would be developed into series or films that he would serve as executive producer on.
The first – The Stranger – hit screens in 2020, with others to have followed including Stay Close, Fool Me Once and Missing You, which was released last month.
Viewers have praised the ‘guilty pleasure’ shows for their twists and turns and while another British-set one was announced last month, a Polish adaptation is coming to Netflix very soon too.
The 2004 novel Just One Look followed Grace Lawson, whose happy life in the suburbs with her husband Jack and their two young children is shattered after discovering a mysterious photo of her husband years earlier.

‘Within 12 hours, Jack has disappeared, a brutal hitman is stalking her family and the safe world she knows has been turned upside down. And all Grace can see is that the past is coming back to haunt the present and people are getting hurt…’ the synopsis teased.
The novel was adapted and re-set in France in 2017, starring Virginie Ledoyen as the lead, renamed Eva Beaufils, and Thierry Neuvic as her husband.
Next month, a Polish-language adaptation will also air on Netflix.
Last year Coben told Radio Times about the upcoming series: ‘We still have a few [books] left! We’re doing one right now in Poland based off my book Just One Look, we’re filming, and Netflix Poland is working on.’
A trailer for the series – which is now set in Warsaw and stars Maria Dębska, Cezary Łukaszewicz, Piotr Stramowski – shows the lead character, renamed Greta, waking from a nightmare in which she was trapped in a nightclub engulfed by flames as others flee for their lives.

Telling her husband Jacek about the unsettling dream, he reassures he will ‘always be here’ to support her.
However, after discovering the photo, she alerts her husband and soon after he is kidnapped, with Greta then meeting a man who is convinced Jacek is somehow connected to his daughter who was murdered.
As she sets to find her husband and uncover the truth, Greta then puts herself in danger too.
It’s been teased of this adaptation: ‘When an ominous photo mysteriously surfaces, Greta must confront buried truths — and her hazy memory — to save her husband from his dark secrets.’

There’s also plenty more shows on the way too. In 2022 it was announced Netflix had extended their deal with Coben another four years.
Last month his novel Run Away was revealed to be the next book taken on by Netflix and would star James Nesbitt, Ruth Jones, Minnie Driver and Alfred Enoch.
Other novels lined up for adaptations also include Caught, Just One Look, I Will Find You.
Last month Missing You soared to number 1 on Netflix, attracting a massive 21.7 million views within the first week of its release.
Just One Look is streaming from March 5 on Netflix.
