Kaizer Chiefs are cashing in on a senior player with a huge offer from Africa. Will they live to regret it?
Kaizer Chiefs send Ditlhokwe packing for R15.8 million
According to FARPost, 26-year-old central defender/left-back Thatayaone Ditlhokwe will move to Libya’s Al Ittihad before the Libyan transfer window shuts on Monday, 17 February. The fee they’re paying is in the region of R15.8 million. The Botswana international skipper will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal. Ditlhokwe has made nine Betway Premiership appearances this season after falling down the pecking order behind first-choice defensive pairing Inacio Miguel and Rushwin Dortley. He has been deployed at left-back in recent matches though.
“Libyan giants Al Ittihad are on the verge of finalising a deal for Kaizer Chiefs defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, hoping to complete the transfer before the window closes on February 17,” Dube reported. “Ditlhokwe’s potential move to Al Ittihad comes at a point when his career at Chiefs was beginning to flourish, following his strong performances that earned him a place in the starting lineup.”
