Locals Torch 5 Water Tankers After Motorcyclist’s Death in Karachi

A tragic accident occurred near Jail Chowrangi in Karachi on Monday when a water tanker fatally hit a motorcyclist.

The incident sparked widespread outrage among locals, who responded by setting multiple water tankers ablaze.

Authorities reported that five tankers were torched during the protests.

Rescue teams confirmed the death of the motorcyclist at the scene. The fire brigade swiftly intervened to extinguish the fires before they could spread further.

Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the situation and requested a detailed report from law enforcement regarding the arson attacks.

Rescue authorities reported that in the last 45 days, 107 people have lost their lives in various traffic accidents across the city. The fatalities included men, women, and children.

This year, 78 men have died in traffic-related incidents, while the disorderly and unregulated traffic has resulted in the deaths of 14 women.

Tragically, children were not spared either, with 11 boys and 4 girls losing their lives in these accidents.

Furthermore, around 15 civilians have sustained injuries due to the negligence and lack of oversight by the traffic police.
