EastEnders bosses have given fans the first look at the aftermath of Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) big relationship decision

Fans of the BBC soap have been given the chance to decide Denise’s fate as part of the 40th anniversary episodes this week, voting on whether she should be with either lover Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) or ex-husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).

And while the result of the interactive vote has not yet been revealed, spoilers for next week’s episode have revealed the new couple will go official.

During Monday’s visit to Walford, the Square is still coming to terms with the catastrophic events following the explosion at the Queen Vic.

But for Denise and her new partner, they make an agreement to tell their loved ones about their relationship.

The following day, Denise gathers the Fox-Truemans at No. 20 as she gets ready to introduce them to her chosen partner – how will they react?

During a recent appearance on This Morning, Diane, Aaron and Scott revealed they are currently filming two versions of scenes to air up as far as April so that the right one can be edited into the soap following the reveal of the viewer vote.

To access the vote, viewers must have a BBC Account. You can register for an account at BBC.co.uk/account, on or before February 19.

The vote will officially open at 8:30pm on Wednesday February 19 at BBC.co.uk/EastEnders. It will close at 7:10pm on Thursday February 20, so the result can be incorporated into the live episode, which will broadcast at 7:30pm from BBC Elstree Centre that very evening.

‘It’s been difficult the last few weeks because we’ve been shooting A and B stuff,’ Aaron told hosts Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley. ‘We’re in April at the minute and we’ve done versions for after the live [episode].

‘It’s been double workload – more for Diane really.’

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 24 February at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
