Amanda Holden has revealed she took nearly 30 flights in seven months to film her BBC renovation show with Alan Carr.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 54, flew back and forth from the UK to Spain27 times to film Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job.

Amanda’s admission comes weeks after the BBC unveiled its climate pledge to be net carbon zero by 2050.

She told the This Is Entertainment podcast: ‘We started the Spanish job in March and we finished it in September. I think we made 28 flights in total, so we were absolutely shattered and I broke at least four sets of nails.

‘We fly out backwards and forwards; obviously I’ve got other jobs that I do, so does Alan. So we will fly out for three days, come back and do the other work, and fly out ten days later.’

A BBC spokesperson told Metro: ‘For Amanda & Alan’s Spanish Job, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr were required to fly back to the UK during breaks in filming for other work commitments.

The BBC’s Net Zero Transition Plan is described as a ‘hugely important milestone’ for a ‘low-carbon future.’

Danielle Mulder, director of sustainability, said: ‘Given the importance of climate change and biodiversity loss, we know our commitment to Net Zero matters to our staff, our suppliers and our audiences.

‘We invite everyone we work with to get involved as we reduce our environmental impact.’

Amanda is not the only celebrity who has sparked environmental concern over excessive flying.

Kylie Jenner, 27, has been previously labelled a ‘climate criminal’ for short, frequent flights linked to her jet.

According to reports, the Bombardier Global 7500 jet flew for 35 minutes from Palm Springs to Van Nuys airport near her Hidden Hills mansion in 2022.

The plane then reportedly flew from Van Nuys to Ventura County on a flight which took only 12 minutes.

Kristina Rabecaite, CEO of the Renewable Energy Platform PPAYA previously told Metro that she ‘empathises with time-pressed business people needing to travel fast between meetings over vast distances’, but that celebrities ‘should know better’.

‘To be making these totally unnecessary jaunts by private jet is both depressing and unacceptable’ Rabecaite said.

In Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job, they travelled to Andalusia where they renovated a dilapidated property.

Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
