Rajkummar Rao set to star in a biopic as Sourav Ganguly

Rajkummar Rao is set to star in a biopic as Sourav Ganguly, former captain of the Indian cricket team!

Ganguly confirmed that Rajkummar Rao will be playing him in the film.

During a media interaction in Bardhaman on Thursday, Sourav Ganguly said, “From what I’ve heard, Rajkummar Rao will play the role (the titular role), but there are issues with dates, so it will take more than a year to hit the screens.”

Ganguly, known as Dada, is an iconic figure in Indian cricket. He is known for his aggressive leadership and fearless attitude, which instilled a new sense of confidence in the team.

He led India to victory in the NatWest Trophy in 2002 and to the final of the 2003 World Cup. After retiring, Ganguly served as the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Rajkummar Rao is known for his versatility and has impressed audiences with his performances in films like ShahidNewton, and Stree.

Rao’s portrayal of Srikanth Bolla, in the biographical drama Srikanth, was widely appreciated.

His upcoming projects include Netflix’s dark comedy Toaster with Sanya Malhotra, the gangster drama Maalik, and a comedy flick, Bhool Chuk Maaf.
