Erik ten Hag has spoken out on his future for the first time since Manchester United sacked him and revealed what he misses most from his time at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman arrived in Manchester in the summer of 2023 with real hope he was the man to lead the club back to the summit of English football.
Ten Hag won the Carabao Cup in his first season in charge with an FA Cup triumph over Manchester City last May granting him a stay of execution after a dismal eighth place finish in the league last season.
After being given a one-year contract extension in July, the former Ajax boss lasted until the end of October, sacked after a 2-1 defeat to West Ham United.
Ten Hag departed after winning just three of his opening nine Premier League games with United sat 14th. Things have not improved with his old side under Ruben Amorim, currently 15th having picked just five more wins since.
Despite his departure, ten Hag still has fond memories from his time at the Premier League giants, missing the Old Trafford crowd and atmosphere more than anything else.
Speaking to SEG Stories, he said: ‘If there is one thing I miss, it’s Old Trafford.

‘You’re always working towards a dot on the horizon but you never get to the horizon.
‘We’ve had many highs at Manchester United, but as I always say there is always room for improvement. And good is not enough, you can do better.’
Ten Hag was thought to be in the running for the Borussia Dortmund job earlier this year after the German side sacked Nuri Sahin.

He was also strongly linked with the Feyenoord job with former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie unveiled as their new head coach on Sunday.
Ten Hag fully intends to return to management but insists he will not be back in the dugout until the summer.
‘I have already decided that I will not accept any job until July 1st. That is when the new season starts.’
United rescued a draw against Everton on Saturday afternoon but only after turning in another woeful first-half display.
They host Ipswich Town, currently sat in the relegation zone in 17th, at Old Trafford on Wednesday night with 13 points separating the two sides.
