There has been a ‘tragic accident’ on University Park Campus at Nottingham University in which a student has died in an e-bike crash.
It has been reported by Nottinghamshire Live that a 21-year-old student has died after an accident involving two e-bikes.
The victim is said to be a young woman who sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. However, despite the best efforts by medical teams, could not be saved. Her parents have been informed.
There was a “heavy police presence” at the scene at East Drive’s junction with Keighton Hill this morning but has since been cleared. A cordon had been placed around the scene this morning, and according to a reporter at the scene, two Lime bikes could be seen within it.
According to the traffic site Inrix, East Drive was closed in both directions just after 7am this morning where the accident happened. It has now reopened.
An anonymous student spoke to reporters, saying: “We heard about the incident through friends and online and came to see it in person. It’s shocking to see it in real life with the road closed off, especially after what’s been happening in Nottingham recently.”
