AUGUSTA (WJBF) – On February 27th, just after 12:30 am, Richmond County Deputies responded to Wellstar Emergency Room in reference to a man with a gunshot wound to the upper arm.
Upon arrival, Investigators met with 35-year-old Quentin Price was being treated for a gunshot wound to the arm. Price told law enforcement that he was shot by an unknown person while he sitting in a field.
During their investigation at Wellstar, investigators learned of a Domestic Violence case that had occurred earlier on the 3100 block of Blackmon Court.
It was learned that Quentin Price was involved in a physical altercation with the victim inside her residence. The victim managed to escape from her attacker and locked herself inside her bedroom.
Price, armed with a gun, attempted to force his way into the bedroom. The victim was able to retrieve her firearm from a safe in the closet and fired a round through the bedroom door, hittimg Price in the upper arm. he then fled the scene.
Deputies had been looking for Price prior to investigators responding to the the hospital for his gunshot wound.
He was subsequently arrested and committed to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on the following charges:
- Kidnapping
- False Imprisonment
- Terroristic Threats and Acts
- Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
