Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has got herself into a right old pickle, having embarked on an affair under the same roof as her husband and her stepmum in Emmerdale.
Dawn has making some bad decisions, probably prompted by the death of her dad Will (Dean Andrews), but there’s no excuse for what she’s been getting up to between the sheets with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
And now that it’s not just her and Joe who knows, she’s in all kinds of trouble.
Charity (Emma Atkins) discovered their tryst after nicking Kim’s (Claire King) laptop, where Kim was storing the files from the bug in Joe’s room. Kim hadn’t yet discovered the contents of the sound files, but Charity did.
Charity immediately used this knowledge for leverage and scared the life out of Dawn with threats of blabbing to Billy (Jay Kontzle), although she reassured Dawn that she had no intention of destroying her family.
Charity might not, but Kim still could.
Since then, Dawn has been beyond paranoid that Kim will find out, testing her every now and then to see if she’s still oblivious. So far, Dawn has got off scot-free.

What Dawn doesn’t know is that Kim has employed Lydia (Karen Blick) as her spy to dig up the dirt on her untrustworthy houseguest.
So therein lies the sting in the tail for Dawn. Joe reveals he’s going away – which is bad news in itself as Dawn can’t get enough of him – but he reveals the reason he is going is because of Kim.
The penny drops for a mortified Dawn, Kim knows.
Life as she knows it is suddenly on a cliff edge.
