Mamelodi Sundowns loanee in hot water, could his loan spell be cut short?
Sipho Mbule is making headlines again, but for all the wrong reasons. His stint at Sekhukhune United is now in jeopardy due to serious disciplinary issues that could see him exit the club sooner than expected, according to FARPost.
The former SuperSport United midfielder joined Babina Noko on loan from Sundowns until the end of the season, hoping for more game time. Since his arrival, the 26-year-old has played in 14 matches across all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists. Most recently, he featured in Sekhukhune’s 2-1 victory over Milford FC, securing the team a place in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
What did Mbule do wrong?
However, Mbule’s off-field behavior could cost him his spot at the club. Reports reveal that he made a controversial remark about one of the technical team members, dismissing their advice as “outdated.” The comment, made in front of teammates, has not gone down well with the club’s management.
Adding to the controversy, Mbule allegedly broke team protocols by bringing an unauthorized individual into the camp. With Sekhukhune currently preparing in Durban for their upcoming clash against Richards Bay FC, the club has taken swift action. As a result of his misconduct, Mbule has been sent back to Johannesburg and will miss the crucial match.
Early termination for the Sundowns loanee
Sources suggest Sekhukhune United is now seriously considering terminating his loan deal early. This wouldn’t be the first time Mbule has found himself in trouble. During his time at Sundowns, reports surfaced that he arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, raising concerns about his professionalism.
His move to Sekhukhune was meant to be a fresh start, but his actions may have ruined that opportunity. When contacted for comment, Mbule denied the allegations before abruptly ending the call. “Don’t write this thing, it’s not true,” he said.
As the situation unfolds, fans and analysts alike are left wondering, will Mbule be able to salvage his career, or is this the beginning of the end for the talented but troubled midfielder?
