Orlando Pirates have reignited their interest in a star Betway Premiership defender.
The club are looking to close all the gaps in their first team squad for next season.
And a towering Stellenbosch FC defender could soon find his way to Mayfair!
Orlando Pirates have already lifted the MTN8 title once again this season, however the league title remains a priority and it seems to be slipping away this season.
Orlando Pirates eyeing Stellenbosch star
According to the latest reports, Orlando Pirates are keen on signing Ivorian central defender Ismaël Traoré from Stellenbosch.
“He (Toure) is still on the club’s (Pirates’) radar, and it’s just a matter of when the club will be taking the interest forward by making a formal offer,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“If you look around the league, you will notice that he is one of the reliable and consistent defenders, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed as interest in his services is growing.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates will host Mamelodi Sundowns at a new venue in their blockbuster Betway Premiership clash later this month.
The match is set to be a headline fixture considering the title race implications, and a fitting venue has been chosen!
A victory for Mamelodi Sundowns would almost certainly guarantee a record extending league title.
For Pirates on the other hand, it will be a ‘six-point’ victory that could have major ramifications on where the Betway Premiership title ends up going at the end of the season.

However, according to IDiski Times, the match will move to the iconic FNB Stadium, a day later!
