Germany’s Pia Grünewald of LKT Team Women won the women’s elite Cape Town Cycle Tour in perfect conditions on Sunday.
Grünewald crossed the line in a record time of 2:05.17.
S’annara Grove (South Africa) took second place (2:06.48) with another German, Seana Littbarski-Gray, rounding out the podium in (2:06.49).
Grünewald broke clear shortly after the start of the race and time-trialled her way to victory by a yawning 1:31 margin.
The women’s elite race covered 78km.
