John is also known for starring on Strictly but he said the TV work has ‘dried up’[/caption]

This week Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite shocked fans when he revealed he is back on OnlyFans after his TV work dried up.

The Bake Off legend, 35, defended his decision to re-join the subscription app after he revealed he quit daytime TV when “that river ran dry”.

After ditching television, he is now stripping off and making explicit content for the adult only site.

John revealed he needed cash to “put food on the table” and he’s providing a “service” that brings a “bit of cheeky joy”.

He said: “I’ve had a lot of DMs about why I’ve re-joined OnlyFans, when I regretted it last time.

“Firstly, I think it’s important to remember that who we are, or at least little parts of us, can change.

“I for one don’t want to live my life stuck in a steadfast template that restricts my next move.

“Secondly, I enjoy performance. I enjoy being a show off. I enjoy building my body and celebrating the results.

“That’s not for everyone, and that’s ok – if you don’t like meat just walk on by the butcher’s shop.”

The star, who won The Great British Bake Off in 2012, continued: “Last time being on OF didn’t gel with my role on daytime television.

“I’m treating my OF career as precisely that – business.

“It cycles money into the economy, it puts food on my table, it gives some people a little bit of cheeky joy – it’s a service.”

Another star who caused a huge stir when she ditched TV for OnlyFans was Sarah Jayne Dunn, 43.

The Hollyoaks star was thrown into a media whirlwind after walking away from her seemingly dream acting job in 2021.

After more than two decades on the Channel 4 soap, she was issued an ultimatum by show bosses – “either quit OnlyFans or be axed”.

But she refused to close her account, and went onto blast her bosses for “blatant hypocrisy”.

She claimed her new content was no different from the lads’ magazine and calendar shoots she was asked to do while on Hollyoaks.

Previously speaking to The Sun’s Fabulous, she said: “I’d been sexualised and been made an object of sexual desire for my entire adult life.

“To then be told I couldn’t do it on my own terms? That was really the bit that stung because it just didn’t make sense to me.”

She added: “I had spent years going on set, being put in short skirts and having a camera pan up and, you know, almost upskirt me and things like that.

“And then you’d have directors manhandling you and feeling uncomfortable… to be told that I couldn’t take control myself was the biggest kick in the teeth.”

When her TV work slowed down and she was on the verge of losing her home, Sopranos star Drea de Matteo kicked off her OnlyFans career and has never looked back.

In fact, the actress was so successful she was able to pay off her mortgage – just five minutes after joining the site.

Although she received a mixed reaction when she signed up to OnlyFans almost two years ago – Drea insists she has no regrets.

After falling into financial difficulty and coming close to losing her family home, she started selling steamy snaps to fans.

Drea has said the site saved her life[/caption]

She said: “It saved us. OnlyFans saved my life, 100 per cent. I can’t believe I’m saying that, but it really did save us.”

The Desperate Housewives star revealed she had just £9 in her bank account when she made the decision to sign up for OnlyFans.

“They put me into foreclosure and my house had flooded, so I was trying to sell the house quickly,” Drea said.

“I wanted to try and sell it before they took it.”

After posting her first snaps on OnlyFans, Drea was floored by how quickly the money started coming in.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, she continued: “I was like, holy s***. In five minutes, I was able to pay back compass real estate who kept the sale of my house.”

Who would’ve thought a Tracy Beaker star would now be making money on OnlyFans.

When former child star Richard Wisker joined the site in 2023, he left his fans gobsmacked having made his name as a baby faced star on a popular CBBC show.

“I was a child star on Tracy Beaker Returns,” he told The Sun in an exclusive interview.

“I played cheeky chappy Liam O’Donovan on the hit show. Now I’m a hit on Only Fans.

“I made thousands playing Liam in the hit show but now my fans are in their twenties.

“My fans wanted more, and I wanted to give them more.”

The star has now switched to being an OnlyFans star[/caption]

Paige Jimenez was only 17 when she shot to fame on the US version of MasterChef.

She came in 19th place, and was praised by Gordon Ramsay for being brave enough to compete on the show at such a young age.

The TV chef told her she had a bright future ahead in the culinary world, but Paige soon hung up her apron when she realised her cooking career only paid $20 per hour.

The OnlyFans star does have rules and won’t post explicit content[/caption]

The telly star has now raked in thousands of dollars by signing up to OnlyFans, where she posts racy pictures of herself.

She told the Daily Star: “I am pretty open. If someone wants to FaceTime and have a cheeky interaction for five minutes, that’s fine with me.

“Growing up in Hawaii, I’ve always been very provocative and sexual. I’ve always worn thong bikinis to the beach, and let’s face it, my t*ts are double Ds. They’re massive!”

However, Paige has admitted she is glad her dad is not alive to see her saucy photos, and hopes her other family members don’t come across it.

She also refuses to make sexual videos with other models on OnlyFans, saying she does not want her future children to one day see explicit clips of her.

What is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is a subscription content service based in London.

As of 2023, it is thought to have more than 220million registered users and over three million content creators.

Sex workers charge monthly fees for access to pictures, videos and more.

While popular for porn, the site isn’t exclusively designed with that in mind – anyone who wants to build up a fan base and charge them for it can set one up.

Celebs like Katie Price and Kerry Katona are popular personalities on the platform.

“Whether you’re uploading tutorials, tips, behind-the-scenes footage or just endless selfies, a lot of your followers would be willing to pay for them,” the company states.

For every subscription that’s sold to a viewer, performers get 80 per cent of the cash while OnlyFans gets the rest.

It isn’t limited to adult content, as it has become popular with physical fitness experts and musicians.
