Lives are in danger in upcoming Casualty episodes as the medical drama’s new boxset trailer shows an ambulance crashing right into the ED.
The next 12 episodes will be part of a mini-series called Internal Affairs. It will introduce new Clinical Lead Flynn Byron, played by Call the Midwife’s Olly Rix.
Flynn causes a stir right from his first episode. In the teaser, we see him involved in an RTC, trying to adapt to his new role, and clashing with Dylan Keogh (William Beck).
Away from this complicated new character, we also see some of our Casualty favourites facing huge storylines.

Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless), a character loved by fans, discovers she is pregnant in this new trailer, but she is also set to face a nightmare as she starts to believe someone is stalking her.
But is this someone from her past, trying to get revenge on her?
Amid the chaos, there is also a brief glimmer of happiness when Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) and Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) arrive at a wedding reception surrounded by all of their friends.
Weddings are rarely smooth sailing in soapland, will Iain and Faith successfully tie the knot without any trouble?

Also taking centre stage in this new boxset is Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari). She goes up against Nicole Piper (Sammy T Dobson) as they attempt to impress surgeon Russell Whitelaw (Robert Bathurst), but can they both handle the pressure of working with him?
And will everyone survive when the ambulance crashes into the hospital?
Discussing his new character Flynn Byron, Olly Rix told me recently:
‘I think in a way he sort of clashes with everybody, because it’s his way or no way. Flynn likes things done how he wants them done so I think. It’s not to say that he doesn’t have respect for the other professionals he’s surrounded by, because he really does. He has massive professional respect for Stevie, massive professional respect for Dylan.’
‘He has a very different relationship with Stevie than he does with Dylan but it’s not a question of whether he respects them as doctors or clinicians – he just wants it done his way. So if he comes up against what he sees as the more pragmatic, bookish approach of Dylan, he doesn’t have time for that. He wants real world quick applications, quick solutions.

He added: ‘Dylan has had time and experience within this NHS context that Flynn hasn’t. So it’s never about one character being right and the other being wrong, it’s a constant push and pull of who’s learning what from who at any given moment.
‘He’s very capable of making very quick decisions, and once he’s made a decision he wants it implemented fast and be efficiently executed.
‘That runs into some tension and conflict along the way because he doesn’t have much time for things he thinks aren’t a good use of time.’
