BBC Breakfast star Nina Warhurst has revealed she’s stepping away from morning programming after seven years.
The presenter, 44, began reporting for BBC Breakfast in 2018, before being appointed its main business presenter in 2020, succeeding Steph McGovern.
However, she has now revealed she will be stepping down from the role.
Nina took to X to announce the news, saying: ‘Hanging up the high-viz & hairnet as I join the BBC’s News at One.
‘Our London team built a gem of a programme & it’s a privilege to be on the Salford team taking it forward
‘(… the teenaged me who lived half a mile from here & dreamed of journalism would NOT believe it).’
She was showered in congratulatory messages, with BBC editor Richard Frediani writing: ‘Delighted to welcome Nina Warhurst as a regular presenter of the News at One from April.
‘Congratulations – a brilliant addition to the team in Salford.’
Nina began her roles on screen acting in the likes of Casualty and ITV miniseries Butterfly Collectors in the late 90s.

She then moved to broadcasting for Russia Today in Moscow, before moving to Channel M and eventually joining the BBC in 2010.
She’s presented regional news for East Midlands Today, as well as BBC North West Tonight and Sunday Politics in North West.
The mum-of-three has also covered the 2014 World Cup in Brazil for BBC Sport, and was appointed political editor at BBC North West in 2016.
After being announced as BBC Breakfast’s Business Presenter in 2020, Nina said: ‘I’m so excited to formally join the BBC Breakfast team, it’s a programme I have always loved, both as a viewer and as a journalist.

‘I grew up locally, so it makes me especially proud that Breakfast is made and broadcast from Salford.
‘This is an incredibly challenging period for our audiences and I look forward to delivering news on our economy in a way that is clear and inclusive.’
She also received the Royal Television Society award for best regional journalist in 2017.
Nina lives in Chorlton, Manchester, with her husband Ted Fraser – who she married in 2014 – and three children.
Nina regularly keeps followers updated with her personal life on social media and previously spoke about life as a mum of three children, and defended her decision to return to the BBC six months after giving birth to her daughter Nance in 2023.
‘Same age that her brothers were when I went back, but they were pretty much weaned at that point,’ Nina told her followers on Instagram at the time.
She went on to talk about her plans for feeding Nance while returning to the BBC, before saying: ‘Also, while I’m here, quite a few people have said to me, “don’t rush back”, and I understand that the intentions are really good there, spend more time with your baby, but firstly, some people want to go back, that’s up to them, that’s totally fine.
‘And secondly, most people I know go back for financial reasons and it’s brilliant for people who have the pot of money or their partner pays the mortgage to extend it, but that’s not the case for me or most of my female friends who have had children.’
