AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – New resources are now available at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Augusta, thanks to a partnership with Comcast.
Seventy-five laptops were donated to the organization on Tuesday, as part of Comcasts’ goal to assist under-served families connect to the internet. Comcast also provided a free Wi-Fi lift zone to help students with online learning.
“Digital equality simply means that every child will have access to the Internet,” said Kim Evans, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Augusta. “Every child will have access to the technology that they need to thrive in school, at home and in life. So we want to make sure that every child has that access, and Boys and Girls clubs just happy to be a part of bridging that gap for so many kids and families in our community.”
In addition to the donation of laptops, the organization also received a $35,000 donation to help with the project.
