They’re reportedly planning a swoop for 24-year-old Bafana midfielder Luke Le Roux. However, that’s just one of the matters on their agenda. They’re currently looking to fish in different waters to find their targets and avoid tough competition for marquee players. Chiefs stuttered to a 0-0 stalemate with Cape Town City on Wednesday to leave them in eighth place with 29 points after 21 matches.
“What the club has decided on their recruitment policy is to try and sign as many players as possible who are not in demand from their local rivals. On many occasions, when they are competing with other local teams, they end up not signing those players. Now that’s why they have reignited the pursuit of Luke Le Roux. He is a South African but currently playing in Europe and they believe they stand a better chance of signing him,” the insider said.
