R&B icon Stedman Pearson has died after huge chart success in the 80s with band Five Star.
Hailing from Romford, Essex, the MailOnline reports that the singer has died at age 60.
Five Star secured six Top 10 hits, including Rain or Shine, which peaked at number two in the charts in 1986 – kept off the top spot by Madonna.
Pearson and his siblings Delroy, Lorraine, Denise and Doris, formed the band in 1983, best known for their glam costumes and dance routines.
In 1987, Five Star won a Brit Award for Best Group but in 2001, they became a trio with Denise and Lorraine continuing to perform with Pearson.
