Kaizer Chiefs begin talks to sign top Nasreddine Nabi player target!

Kaizer Chiefs are expected to enter their second phase of their evolution under coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Nabi arrived at a struggling Chiefs side that had cleared some of its expensive deadwood after a historic low finish.

Chiefs have signed 10 players this season

Under Molefi Ntseki and Cavin Johnson, Chiefs got their lowest finish in history, which was 10th. Before Nabi even arrived, the likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Itumeleng Khune, Siyethemba Sithebe and Njabulo Ngcobo were axed. The Tunisian then signed seven new players in his first window. Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Gaston Sirino, Bradley Cross, Inacio Miguel and Njabulo Blom.

After that group failed to really push the Chiefs squad to new heights, Nabi was allowed to add three more. In the January transfer window, it was clear that experience was going to be the order of the day. The club went on to sign Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo. That window may just be a pre-cursor to what is set to come in the next for Amakhosi. One of the players they have had a huge interest in is Feisal Salum of Azam FC in Tanzania.

Open talks for Salun signing

The Tanzanian international is a playmaker who is known for his insane number of goals and assists from midfield. Salum is very high on the list for Nabi, together with assistant coach Cedric Kaze, are desperate to sign him. Now according to The Citizen, Chiefs have opened talks with Azam for the player’s signing at the end of the season.

“Informal talks between Chiefs and Azam have already started, but as you know, until an offer has been submitted, there’ll be denials all over. But what I can tell you is that talks have indeed started (for Salum),” said a source to the same publication.

Furthermore, the source believes Salum’s contract situation favours Chiefs and puts Azam in a corner.

Amakhosi better placed in negotiations?

“Football is business, Azam may say now that they’re not willing to sell, but they know that they’ll have to sell if the player (Salum) doesn’t want to renew his contract. They won’t want to risk losing him for free.” Said the source.
