One of the quietest MAFS Australia grooms Jake Luik shocked everyone in the latest episode when he made horrible comments about loads of the brides during the photo ranking, and now he has blamed the producers.
The groom was asked to rank every woman in the experiment by attractiveness and he gave a nasty description about why he didn’t fancy each girl, including that Rhi has “a little lazy eye” and Sierah’s face “screams I could stab you in your sleep”.
The most shocking was about Awhina as he said: “Not gonna sound like… I’m not racist or nothing but I do like Caucasian people mainly, mostly. Awhina she’s not exactly like – she’s Māori I think – probably why she’s not a bit higher. Just because, like… the physical features.”
Ash was totally taken aback by his horrible comments, saying: “How dare you say these unhinged things about these gorgeous women? It can be honest without being hurtful and nasty.”
At the time, he insisted it was “just a joke”. Now, he’s spoken out about the whole situation in an interview with Daily Mail Australia, and he claimed the producers forced him to spend ages evaluating each girl.

“The production crew weren’t happy with anything I was saying,” he said. “They told me, ‘You need to spend 30 seconds on each girl and be more detailed’. So I just said something stupid. My mouth works faster than my brain sometimes.”
Yes, the producers probably did tell him to speak about each girl to make the scene more interesting, but they didn’t tell him he had to be nasty. He could have spent 30 seconds complimenting each bride!
The 30-year-old claimed that loads of context was cut from the show too, adding: “Even Ash said things that didn’t make it to air. I was made to look like I was the only one saying things, but that wasn’t the case.”
