Incredible age group results from the 2025 Cape Town Cycle Tour

If you think you’re too old to ride the Cape Town Cycle Tour and it’s time to retire your bicycle, think again!

For example, the winner of the 85-89 age group category, Pieter Loots, finished in 6:47.36.

He was followed home by the oldest finisher, Noel Vorster, who – at 87 years young – crossed the line in a time of 6:51.31.

Elite results

Meanwhile, as first reported by The South African website, South Africa’s Tyler Lange won the men’s Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Lange, still only 21, crossed the line in a record time of 2:25:47.

His compatriot Reinardt Janse van Rensburg took second place in the same time, with another local rider, Jaedon Terlouw, rounding out the podium, one second further adrift.

The men’s elite race covered 109km.

Tyler Lange is the son of previous race winner, Malcolm Lange.

Women’s race

Germany’s Pia Grünewald of LKT Team Women won the women’s elite Cape Town Cycle Tour.

Grünewald crossed the line in a record time of 2:05.17.

S’annara Grove (South Africa) took second place (2:06.48) with another German, Seana Littbarski-Gray, rounding out the podium in (2:06.49).

Grünewald broke clear shortly after the start of the race and time-trialled her way to victory by a yawning 1:31 margin.

The women’s elite race covered 78km.
