From Eleven to Enola: Millie Bobby Brown ranks her acting eras and iconic looks

Millie Bobby Brown has become one of the most adored names in Hollywood, and for a good reason. This girl is making history – she first captivated audiences at the age of 11 with her breakout role as Eleven in Stranger Things, and has continued to grace our screens ever since.

Her career has spanned across countless genres, yet despite her impressive range of roles, she’s self aware enough to notice that she gravitates to a lot of period pieces. Every role Millie plays transports her audience to a different time, but what really impresses me is how uniquely and distinctly she brings each character to life.

But breaking down each of her looks from the “Millie-verse” on Still Watching Netflix, she dishes on her favourite looks and characters throughout her career. So, welcome to the Millie-verse! Get ready to be transported through the Victorian era to the 80s, all the way to her 90s grunge era as Millie Bobby Brown ranks the looks in her roles, starting from the worst to the best.

Personally, I think this fierce era deserves much higher than last place. Unlike the corseted dresses and more proper looks we’re used to seeing from her period roles, this one’s got a grittier edge; she wears a furry vest, leather gloves, and a long-sleeve undershirt. It’s giving powerful – nothing can stop me – energy, and I’m loving it. It embodies her character perfectly.

Despite this, it’s not doing much for Mills, as she ranked her look from Damsel in a sad 10th place. She did add that she “loved this look” but hey, it’s clearly got nothing on her later looks.

Next, Eleven. Honestly, there’s not much else to say. If you’ve watched Stranger Things, you’ll know Eleven has many iconic eras. Amidst the range of unforgettable eras she’s had, like her iconic shaved head look, I fear this one may have flown a bit under the radar.

She’s wearing a chequered shirt with a mismatched dress over the top—it’s not my personal favourite, and it doesn’t seem to be Millie’s either.

5. Damsel, look two

Millie asks her dog Winnie, who’s on set with her, what she would rate another one of her Damsel eras. Winnie seems to like it, but Millie mentions that her dog “doesn’t like the stuff I did when she wasn’t able to come onto set.”

Describing why she ranked the performance in her frock so low, Millie added: “It’s not terrible, It’s just, you know, It’s whatever.” Millie, I’m going to have to disagree with you there. The ginger hair combined with the turquoise and gold corseted dress is one of the prettiest outfits I’ve seen, and honestly the whole Damsel era was so iconic. But hey, who says I’m right? (I am).

4. Enola: Film two

While I can’t be too harsh given that it’s a blind ranking, I honestly think Millie really shines in the Enola era. Her portrayal of the character feels authentic and genuine, yet she perfectly balances that realness with an unstoppable, powerful energy. I’m also really enjoying the knightly vibes she’s giving off in this image.

She favoured this look, but had less to say about Enola’s rags she donned throughout the film.

Again, fair judgment. There’s nothing extravagant about her casual look, but it does capture the vibe of Enola’s character—a more down-to-earth style we frequently see her in that matches her personality. Speaking about her scruffy scenes, Millie said: “”It’s not my favourite.” Her character arc in the film is something to be admired though. But clearly, Millie Bobby Brown ranks her roles and looks with more detail and scrutiny.

3. Enola: Film one

Looking at this scene, I completely agree – this might be my favourite. I’m a sucker for Victorian-style dresses, and she suits it so much. The deep, dark red is stunning and really complements her character. Despite being seen as a young girl, Enola is so much more than that. This era truly highlights the hidden strengths and brilliant mind of Enola that many overlook.

Millie gets it too, saying: “Enola one, I love this with my whole heart.”

2. Eleven, season three

This is definitely one of Eleven’s more memorable eras – I remember when that jumpsuit was trending everywhere. Bring back the 80s! Before picking up the image, Millie says: “I’m gonna hope this next one is two.” Turning around the image, she relieves: “It’s two…that’s perfect, that’s exactly what I would put.” I expected nothing less of this irreplaceable era.

1. Michelle

Drumroll please…and the winner is, Michelle from The Electric State! Millie excitedly says, “Oh, so sick! We have a winner.” She continues, “It’s just heroic. It’s such a cool look – I love my hair, I love my outfit.” It’s just “epic” she says, and I think we’d all agree.

Millie and Winnie both seem to agree, with the actress saying: “Winnie loves Electric State and I do too.”

Just from the first glimpse of this film, I’m so excited for a new chapter in the Millie-verse, especially with that striking blonde hair.

Released on March 14th, her new film with Chris Pratt looks fun and if it’s good enough to take the crown out of all of Millie Bobby Brown’s roles ranked, we should be in for a treat.
