FIA Investigates Nadia Hussain Under PECA Act

Nadia Hussain, a model and actress, is currently under investigation by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly making baseless allegations against FIA officials.

The situation began when Hussain claimed on social media that a person impersonating an FIA officer demanded a bribe of Rs30 million in exchange for her husband’s bail. Her husband, Atif Muhammad Khan, was arrested by the FIA on March 8 in a case involving embezzlement of Rs540 million during his tenure as CEO of Al-Falah Securities.

The FIA clarified that the person demanding the bribe was not an actual FIA officer but a fraudster using a senior officer’s photo as his display picture on social media.

Despite being informed of this, Hussain chose to share the incident on social media, which led the FIA to initiate an inquiry against her for spreading unfounded allegations.

The FIA emphasized that no one should be allowed to spread baseless propaganda without evidence, and Hussain’s actions were seen as damaging the reputation of the institution.

As reported, the FIA, as part of the investigation, conducted a raid at Hussain’s house and seized her mobile phone.

Hussain has been asked to record a statement and has provided information about the incident to the FIA officials.
