Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels are at it again. They are spreading love and support across South Africa. This time, their generosity extends to our furry friends, as they donated a whopping R50,000 to WanderVet.
WANDERVET AND GIVING BACK
This donation will allow them to sterilise 100 dogs and will also allow them to support rural veterinary care, according to Jacaranda FM.
WanderVet is a non-profit organisation that dedicates themselves to helping struggling communities. They assist them in caring for their beloved pets and focus on rural areas where veterinary care is scarce.
Dr Annarie Greyling founded WanderVet and the organisation provides free veterinary services.
WANDERVET’S SERVICES
They offer sterilisations and vaccinations, and also provide education on animal care. Their goal is to improve the lives of pets and working animals.
“Most people do better when they know better,” says Dr Greyling. Many people simply cannot afford proper care for their pets and struggle to put food on the table.
WanderVet bridges that gap to ensure animals in these communities receive the care they need, according to Gauteng Lifestyle.
IMPORTANCE OF STERILISATION
Sterilisation is vital as it controls stray populations. It prevents diseases and improves overall animal welfare, according to the SPCA.
WanderVet’s doctors and healthcare professionals work for free.
GOOD MORNING ANGELS
Good Morning Angels recognised WanderVet’s incredible work and stepped in to make a difference. Their donation of R50,000 will fund 100 sterilisations to support WanderVet’s life-changing efforts.
“There are things in life you cannot do too much of,” says Martin Bester, Jacaranda FM’s breakfast host.
“For me personally, one of them is helping animals. It’s also educating people on how to treat them.” He believes we should all support those who give their time and expertise to help animals.
VETERINARY SERVICES
The support from Good Morning Angels means WanderVet can continue its mission. They can provide free veterinary services and ensure more animals receive the care they deserve.
