Indian lyricist Javed Akhtar recently discovered a video of Pakistani singer Moazzam Ali Khan performing the classic song ‘Yeh Nain Deray Deray’.
Akhtar was deeply impressed by Khan’s rendition, which has drawn comparisons to the legendary Indian ghazal singer Jagjit Singh. He took to social media to express his admiration and invited Moazzam Ali Khan to collaborate on a few songs.
Akhtar posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Just now I watched a gentleman Muazzam saheb on YouTube singing ‘yeh nain deray deray.’ Could he please contact me? I will be thankful if he sings a few songs for us”.
Moazzam Ali Khan is not only a singer but also an actor and voice-over artist. He frequently shares his singing videos on platforms like Instagram and YouTube, where he has gained a significant following. His music repertoire includes covers of iconic songs like ‘Koi Faryad’ from ‘Tum Bin’, ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai’ by Bhupinder Singh, and ‘Tumko Dekha Toh Ye’ by Jagjit Singh.
