Nadia Hussain, a well-known Pakistani model and actress, has apologized to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for any unintended disrespect caused by her previous statements.
Addressing the media outside the agency’s office on Monday, Nadia Hussain said she had “provided all the information to the FIA officials regarding the fake call”
She clarified that her intention was not to malign the agency but to expose a fraudster who impersonated an FIA official to demand a bribe. The incident occurred after her husband, Atif Khan, was arrested in a multi-million fraud case.
Nadia Hussain reported that the scammer used a senior FIA officer’s display picture on WhatsApp to appear legitimate and demanded Rs30 million in exchange for her husband’s bail.
Nadia Hussain has provided all necessary information to the FIA regarding the fake call and has emphasized her commitment to cooperating with the investigation. She has also urged the FIA to take swift action against such scammers to prevent further fraud.
The FIA initiated an investigation against Nadia under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) for allegedly making baseless allegations against the agency, but she maintains that her actions were aimed at exposing the scammer, not defaming the FIA.
In her apology, Nadia Hussain expressed regret if her statements offended any FIA officials and reiterated her support for the agency’s efforts to combat fraud. She has submitted evidence through the FIA’s online portal and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
