Kaizer Chiefs closing in on first signing for next season already?

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be making en-roads with regards to one of their targets for the next season already.

Chiefs will be looking to further improve their squad next season with the current squad being massively inconsistent.

Chiefs signed 10 players this season

Amakhosi have already got the Nasreddine Nabi tenure underway with 10 new players in two windows. Clearly not satisfied, the Tunisian mentor has often stated that only a handful of the players are the profile he is looking for. He hinted that the recent three signings in Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo fit his game model. Now as he continues his quest in that regard, it believes he is expecting to strengthen the right-back position for Chiefs.

This publication reported in January that Chiefs are interested in signing Richards Bay right-back Lwandile Mabuya. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi are now preparing to send an offer to the Natal Rich Boyz.

“What I know is that Chiefs have been interested in Mabuya for some time now since the start of the season and now it’s believed that they are close to tabling an offer to buy the defender. No, I can’t say how much it is but it’s between the two clubs right now and it’s up to Richards Bay to decide. But what we know is that Chiefs are interested in the defender,” said a source to the same publication.

Preparing an offer for Mabuya?

Chiefs currently have Reeve Frosler, Dillan Solomons and Njabulo Blom as senior right-back options. With Frosler’s deal expiring at the end of the season, there is currently a question mark over his future. Blom, on the other hand is on loan at the club and would ideally play in midfield. Although Solomons has been playing of late, there’s still doubt on if he fits the profile Nabi is looking for. This may be where the interest in Mabuya stems from.

Would he be a good signing?
