Kaizer Chiefs fans would love to see Monnapule Saleng in their colours – stranger things have happened in soccer.
The AmaKhosi faithful will be feeling bitter heading into the international break after their last outing ended in a 2-0 defeat to league strugglers Richards Bay. Nasreddine Nabi, renowned for playing the blame game, related the loss to a lack of striking prowess and crammed scheduling. We’ve heard that before.
The Soweto giants are desperate to return to winning ways and have been breaking the bank to do so, luring ten players last offseason alone. Several arrivals followed in January, and there seems to be an inevitability of another wave of talent entering Naturena in the winter window.
Fans want Saleng
Kaizer Chiefs fans often get what they want. That’s the advantage of supporting one of the continent’s biggest clubs; they’ve got enough clout to pique most players’ interest—Saleng might be one of them.
DDC Promotion
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly tabled a three-year deal to seventeen year-old sensation Takalani Mazhamba:
“They have been looking at different young goalkeepers but Mazhamba has stood out in recent times both in training with the senior team as well as in games for the DDC team where he has kept six clean sheets and the club is happy with that and that’s why they are offering him a three-year senior team contract,” a Siya source confirmed.
“The technical team believes if given more game time in friendly games in the pre-season then he could compete at a higher level as well”
