Davide jokes his new girlfriend facing prison is ‘like a movie’ and vows to stick by her through it

This morning, it was revealed Love Island winner Davide’s new girlfriend is currently facing prison. He’s dating Iris Au, who has plead guilty to a criminal tax charge, and will face up to three years in federal prison as a result. Following this, he’s released a bizarre statement about what’s going on.

Davide went official with his new girlfriend Iris at the start of the year. She is better known as EyeRize, and is an LA mother who documents her life online. She is also the founder and CEO of VURG.com.

Iris was charged with a single-count information with subscribing to a false tax return. She is said to be the former girlfriend of cryptocurrency fraudster Iza, who dubbed himself “The Godfather.” The Justice Department has said Iris failed to report more than $2.6million (£2million) in ill-gotten gains, obtained via her then-boyfriend’s criminal activities.

Following the news being announced, Davide has confirmed what’s going on. He strangely compared his situation to being in a Hollywood movie, and said he will stick by his girlfriend throughout it.

“How The Italian Stallion stole the girl from The Godfather with the LAPD on a speed dial… this sounds like a Hollywood blockbuster,” he told MailOnline. “The truth is that I knew about her situation from the start which is why I was protecting her.

“Iris is an amazing person who has been through difficult situations that most people could never understand. There’s so much of this extraordinary story that people don’t know yet. I will be there by her side to supply her as she deserves all the support and understanding.”

A report from the United States Attorney’s Office read: “Au admitted in her plea agreement that she transferred more than $2.6million from these various accounts to her personal bank accounts during the period 2020 through 2023, income that she wilfully failed to report to the IRS on her federal tax returns. After pleading guilty, Au will face up to three years in federal prison.”

It later added: “At Iza’s direction, Au created shell corporations and opened bank accounts in the names of those entities. She then used the illicit funds placed into those accounts to pay approximately $1million to the deputies, mostly in cash, purchase or lease luxury real estate, carsjewellery, and clothing, pay for recreational activity for Iza and herself valued at nearly $10million, and acquire approximately $16million in cryptocurrency for Iza.”

After pleading guilty, Au will face up to three years in federal prison. IRS Criminal Investigation and the FBI are still investigating.
