Spotted! People think they’ve captured Tim Gromie in the wild for first time since leaving MAFS

Tim Gromie became MAFS Australia’s most controversial groom after seemingly refusing to give his marriage to Katie Johnston a real go and being steadfast in his belief that he was the one really trying.

The teacher – sorry, former teacher – went on Married at First Sight in the hopes of meeting a small, petite, blonde woman. He was matched with Katie, a literal angel sent from heaven, but was almost immediately put off. Throughout the subsequent episodes he appeared to make no attempt to create the “spark” he so desperately craved and would not shut up about. It’s almost as if the word spark was used to mask how he wasn’t instantly attracted to her, funny that.

Anyways, after an explosive dinner party sealed the couple’s fate, Tim and Katie sat down to talk with experts and ultimately decided to leave the experiment. Tim has been eerily silent since and has deleted all of his social media because of the backlash.

We still don’t know what Tim is up to now, but some people think they spotted him in a shopping centre in Australia.

MAFS’ Tim might have been enjoying some shopping amid the controversy

Alongside the “I’m a big dog, I do big dog sh*t” sound on TikTok, user @1030.pres shared a short clip that looked to be Tim Gromie walking through a shopping centre. The video was posted in early February and comments would suggest it was taken around that time, eight months after filming concluded.

In the clip, the man who many people thought was Tim was sporting black flip-flops, a white Nike tank top, green sports shorts, and a tan baseball cap. There was not a skinny jean in sight so maybe men can change? He had his tattoos out on show and they seem to match the ones Tim had on MAFS Australia.

In one hand he carried an iced coffee of some kind and in the other, he was carrying black and yellow shopping bags. A bit of internet sleuthing suggests Tim had just shopped at Rebel Sport but it’s not clear what he bought. They don’t sell skinny jeans but the bag was a little bulbous so it was probably clothing of some kind.

People were not particularly kind in the comments, but one slightly more nuanced critique read: “He might have deleted his socials, but the socials making sure he lives on forever.”

“How good of him to be alone in a place with loads of people. I’d be online shopping for the next decade if I were him,” another said.

A third wrote: “I bet he regrets going on MAFS.”
