Kaizer Chiefs have missed out on the possible signing of an emerging transfer target for next season.
Chiefs were reportedly eyeing the signing of soon to be former TS Galaxy defender Samukelo Kabini for next term.
It’s believed that Chiefs were earmarking a deal for the 21-year-old as they continue searching for long-term solutions at left-back. At the beginning of the season they signed Bradley Cross but he has failed to stamp his authority. They have since settled on the fit again Edmilson Dove but the Mozambican international is more of a left-sided centre back. It was for this reason that they hoped to test the resolve of Galaxy for Kabini.
Chiefs targeted Kabini
But now, no move to Chiefs will materialise. This after Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi confirmed to SABC Sport that he has sold Kabini to Norwegian giants Molde instead. In fact the duo have already jetted out to the Nordic country with a medical scheduled before the deal is completed.
Now set to sign for Molde
“Yes, Samukelo Kabini has signed for Norwegian topflight club Molde FK, who have won consecutive league titles and are known to be playing in the UEFA Champions League. Indeed, it’s a transfer fee in euros for starters and we have never done a transfer of this nature of course. So it becomes a record transfer. But I’d hate to say that because there should be no limit. The quality should dictate the price and Kabini’s quality is proof of this. We have transformed boys into men and this is good for the country.” Said Sukazi to the same website.
