Zimbabwe war veteran reappears, claims Mnangagwa poisoned Chiwenga

Zimbabwe militant war veteran Blessed Geza has resurfaced with explosive claims, directly accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of poisoning his deputy, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

Geza, who had previously disappeared following controversial press briefings, re-emerged on Tuesday in a YouTube video, declaring that Mnangagwa’s time in office is running out.

Poisoning Allegations Against Mnangagwa

In a fiery address, Geza alleged that Mnangagwa was behind Chiwenga’s mysterious health complications, which saw the former military boss being flown to South Africa for urgent medical treatment in 2019. He claimed to have firsthand evidence from Joseph Rera, a relative of Mnangagwa, proving the president’s involvement.

“Mnangagwa was 100 per cent involved in the poisoning of General Chiwenga. I have evidence from his brother, Joseph Rera. When Rera asked Mnangagwa about Chiwenga’s condition while he was in China, Mnangagwa said Chiwenga was a goner and would return to Zimbabwe in a coffin,” Geza charged.

Chiwenga’s Role in Mnangagwa’s Rise to Power

According to Geza, Chiwenga had been a key figure in ensuring Mnangagwa’s rise to power during the 2017 military coup that ousted the late former President Robert Mugabe. He reminded Mnangagwa of the loyalty Chiwenga had shown when he led Operation Restore Legacy, a military intervention that secured Mnangagwa’s presidency.

“You poisoned General Chiwenga, who assisted you when you had run away. Mugabe wanted to give power to Chiwenga, but he refused. And today, you are turning against him. Are you sure about this?” fumed Geza.

Suspicious Deaths of Military Officials

Geza further accused Mnangagwa of orchestrating the deaths of several high-ranking military officials, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, insinuating that these deaths were not coincidental but part of a broader plot to consolidate power.

In a bold challenge, Geza dared the resident to arrest him, asserting that the president is fully aware of his whereabouts. “I am very safe and in buzzing good health. Mnangagwa knows where I am.”

Warning to Christopher Mutsvangwa

Geza also took aim at Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa, warning him to stay silent or risk having his own questionable past exposed. He hinted at revealing damning secrets about Mutsvangwa’s alleged anti-revolutionary activities during the liberation struggle.
