Strictly’s Jamie Borthwick and Wynne Evans embroiled in shocking sex toy video

Strictly Come Dancing might be over but the curtain is yet to fall on last season’s drama.

After a troublesome series, the BBC show’s annual live tour took a turn when Wynne Evans was forced to step back after making an ‘inappropriate comment’ about Strictly presenter Janette Manrara.

And it seems that wasn’t the only questionable behaviour he may have gotten up to, as reports have now claimed he and co-star Jamie Borthwick earned an alleged telling-off from BBC bosses after discovering a video of the pair joking around with a sex toy.

In footage obtained this week, the GoCompare opera singer, 53, and EastEnders star, 30, could be seen backstage after Wynne reportedly sent a sex toy to Borthwick at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena.

It was reported by The Sun on Sunday that the actor was filming himself joking around with the toy while Evans was behind him practising his dance routine shirtless.

Smiling as he held up the flesh-coloured rubber toy, Borthwick said: ‘Look at what he bought me. I opened it up, and he surprised me with this, didn’t he? It’s so funny.’

He then reportedly sent the video to the Strictly celebs’ WhatsApp group, resulting in some uncomfortable co-stars and an alleged telling-off from BBC bosses.

Speaking to the newspaper, an inside source said that as soon as bosses were made aware of the ‘shocking and immature footage’, they were quick to address the issue through the appropriate channels and ‘reminded the pair they had to act professionally.’

‘The men were acting extremely immaturely and inappropriately, considering it was a family show, and many cast members didn’t share their crass sense of humour,’ the source said.

They added that ‘bosses were horrified and shocked’ and hoped they had dealt with the issue before it was shared with anyone.

Unfortunately, they were too late and the video began circulating, with insiders claiming it is a perfect example of the ‘inappropriate culture’ that occurs behind the scenes on the hit show.

They continued to say that the two men were known to play pranks on each other regularly, and Borthwick often laughed about it like a ‘naughty schoolboy’, despite the fact other cast members thought it was crude.

To make matters even worse, the video was filmed on January 18, just two days after Evans was recorded making a disturbing sexual comment to Borthwick about Manrara on January 16.

Evans issued an apology ‘for the pain my inappropriate action caused’ after the comments were made public one week later.

Writing on Instagram, he said: ‘I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour as well as my other public commitments to prioritise my wellbeing.

‘I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate action have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.

‘Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.’

Robin Morgan took over the star’s hosting duties and remains behind the mic. It is still unclear whether Evans will return.

It was just another scandal for the singer to navigate after he sparked controversy with his former pro dance partner Katya Jones during their time on the live shows.

They were forced to address a ‘silly joke’ he made after he had placed his hand on her waist and kept reaching it further around her midriff until she removed it with a smile on her face on live TV.

Evans and Jones repeatedly denied that he engaged in any sort of ‘inappropriate’ behaviour or upset her at all.

Metro has approached Evans and Borthwick’s representatives for comment.
