Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been spotted weeping in the crowd as Newcastle beat Liverpool to a win with a score of 1-2 in the English League Cup Final tonight.

Proudly sporting their Newcastle scarves, the Saturday Night Takeaway hosts watched from the crowds as the match played out in Wembley.

And, as the Magpies’ Dan Burn scored the team’s first goal of the match only moments before halftime, the pair erupted with joy.

This was soon followed by a second goal from Alexander Isak, who doubled the team’s lead—and brought on more celebrations from the I’m A Celebrity presenting duo.

Federico Chiesa managed to score a late strike during the second half for Liverpool, but as the whistle blew, history was made and tears were shed as Newcastle celebrated the end of a decades-long trophy drought.

Marking the team’s first major trophy since 1969, it’s no wonder notable Geordies Ant and Dec were in tears as their beloved team lifted the Carabao Cup.

To many, their emotional celebration was just the icing on the cake for the win.

‘Brilliant stuff for Newcastle there well played!!! Cracking scenes and Ant&Dec crying,’ said Youngkit666.

Elsewhere, others couldn’t help but notice how often the cameras kept panning to the famous fans in the crowd (which also included Alan Shearer), with many joking that the Britain’s Got Talent hosts might as well lift the trophy themselves.

‘I didn’t witness Newcastle winning the game. The broadcasters spent the entire time showing Ant and Dec!’, exclaimed AntForman1.

‘Seen Ant & Dec less when watching I’m a celeb,’ said MattyJJackson.

Celebrating as the full-time whistle blew, the stars took to TikTok to share their excitement.

‘We did it!’ they screamed as one, their eyes still visibly brimming with tears.

‘I can’t believe it,’ a shell-shocked Ant repeated over and over again. ‘I can’t believe it.’

‘This is the best day of my life,’ added Dec. ‘Apart from the wedding and the kids and all of that… but this is the best day of my life!’

Famous fans Vicky Pattison and Sam Fender also joined in the chorus of celebrations from their homes, both posting to Instagram as Newcastle took home the win.

I bet the toon will be absolutely BRILLIANT tonight!!!’ wrote Geordie Shore star Vicky, sharing a snap of herself as a child, wearing a Newcastle football shirt.

‘And well played Liverpool!!!! 🥹⚽️’ she added, magnanimously.

Singer-songwriter Sam was less composed, sharing a series of images of his crying face to his Stories, writing: ‘Already got emotional today. Shed some tears,’ as the game began.

ITV stalwarts Ant and Dec are so fanatical about football that they released their own World Cup anthem in 2002, with the certified banger We’re On The Ball.

Originally released as the official England song of the Fifa World Cup, it was subsequently re-released again in 2010.

It originally entered the charts at number three and was the duo’s highest-peaking single of all time (what, no love for U Krazy Katz?)

More recently, they were left starstruck as England and Manchester City player Jack Grealish revealed that he’d consider a stint in the jungle.

‘I’ve heard a few of you guys want to see me in the jungle,’ Jack said on TikTok. ‘I can’t lie, it’s something I would absolutely love to do.

‘It’s a show that I’ve watched for years since I was little. I don’t know how I’d get on in there; I don’t think I’d be the best, to be honest, but I’d give it a go.

‘Not this year, I don’t think [Man City manager] Pep [Guardiola] would be too happy. But, never say never, it could happen one day.’

Footy fans Ant and Dec responded by chanting the star’s name.
