Arsenal transfer target Joshua Kimmich has received his first concrete offer to leave Bayern Munich this summer.

Talks between the 30-year-old and his current club have stalled and, as a result, the experienced Germany international could leave on a free transfer this summer.

The Gunners are understood to be monitoring Kimmich’s situation and have already held exploratory talks with his representatives.

According to Sky Germany, however, Paris Saint-Germain have stolen a march by submitting a formal written offer to the player.

The French champions are said to have offered Kimmich a four-year deal and they would have little difficult matching his current wages which are said to be 20 million euros a year.

PSG have shied away from signing ready made superstars in recent years with the star-studded team that included the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar having disbanded.

A team built around the likes of Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola and Joao Neves could well benefit from the arrival of player boasting the leadership qualities that Kimmich possesses in abundance.

Kimmich is yet to respond to PSG’s offer while Bayern are hopeful that a resolution with their current captain can be found.

Fresh talks are set to take place on Thursday with Kimmich having offered an indication that his preference would be to remain at Bayern.

Last week, Bayern legend Lothar Matheus urged Kimmich to resolve his future as soon as possible amid fears the uncertainty could create a distraction during the run in.

‘At Bayern, the pending contract extension with Joshua Kimmich is currently the biggest problem,’ the legendary ex-Bayern and Germany midfielder wrote in his Sky Deutschland column.

‘Kimmich has to make a decision. There is no more grey, only black or white.

‘He has been given time but at some point patience runs out. Both sides have lawyers who can write a contract down to the smallest detail within a week.’

Matthaus added: ‘Since I have known Bayern, they have rarely waited as long for players as they have now for Kimmich. Now the time has come to make a decision.

‘I don’t know what Kimmich is still waiting for, what little details are involved. There is no other club that can offer him better prospects than Bayern.

Maybe it’s the signing fee, the players talk to each other, and then it’s also about vanity.’
