Controversial cookie that contains an ENTIRE Cadbury creme egg is back on menus for Easter at major pizza chain

THE controversial Cadbury Creme Egg cookie has returned to Domino’s menus – despite last year’s backlash against the sugar and fat content.

Furious politicians said the pizza chain’s bosses “should be ashamed of themselves” for introducing the sweet treat.

The 370-calorie cookies come in boxes of four and each contains a whole creme egg wrapped in dough.

The collaboration between Domino’s and Cadbury was branded “disgusting by Lord Bethell of Romford.

“This is disgusting. A whole Cadbury cream egg in a Domino’s Cookie.

“These are serious corporate food companies. What are they thinking?

“The executive team, the board and the shareholders should be ashamed of themselves.”

Despite this, Domino’s has excitedly announced that they will be added to menus from February 24.

Louise Pilkington, Director of Innovation at Domino’s said: “There’s a reason Domino’s Cookies made with Cadbury Creme Egg are back for the second year in a row.

“They were an instant hit last year, and we know you’ll love them just as much this time round.

“This partnership is a match made in dessert heaven. Combining our iconic cookies with the gooey delight of Cadbury Creme Egg creates an indulgent experience like no other. This is a delicious reunion not to be missed.”

A spokesperson for Domino’s said that their customers tend to share their cookies and added that they are no worse than many other high street treats.

“These special edition cookies bring together two much loved, iconic brands and are designed to be a delicious pre-Easter treat which can be shared,” they said in a previous statement.

“At just over 370 calories per cookie, they are in line with the content of many other treats available on the high street such as frappes and croissants.

“We know our customers love to share our existing cookies, and we expect they will do the same with the new Creme Egg cookies.”

The pizza giant also introduced smaller 600-calorie pizzas and wraps for under 450 calories.

It has also launched vegan dishes, adding: “We are serious about our role in helping customers manage their nutritional intake and maintain a balanced diet with less sugar, fat and salt, as well as fewer calories.”

The Sun has contacted Domino’s and Cadbury for comment.

How Pep used the world’s best striker Erling Haaland as a decoy to set up Marmoush masterclass

PEP GUARDIOLA’S new signings can make a Real difference in Madrid as Manchester City’s ‘mini Rodri’ and Omar Marmoush look ready to start.

It was a case of Marmoush? You can’t handle Marmoush… for Newcastle at the weekend.

Here, Dean Scoggins from our brilliant Tactics Exposed show, explains how Pep destroyed Newcastle and what that means for the Champions League second leg on Wednesday.

HAALAND’S THE DECOY

Seems amazing – using the world’s best striker to be a decoy runner.

But that’s exactly what Guardiola did against Newcastle as Marmoush bagged a hat-trick.

Unselfish captain for the day Erling Haaland dragged Newcastle’s defence upfield and they kindly followed him to allow flying Egyptian Marmoush to run in behind for his first goal.

His third was more good work from Haaland – who cleverly took the defenders to the back post, allowing space in front of Marmoush for Savinho’s cross to find him.

Haaland may not have scored – but City hit four.

MINI RODRI GLUES CITY TOGETHER

Nico Gonzalez gave a midfield masterclass that Rodri would be proud of, and Pep labelled him ‘mini Rodri’ after the game.

He’s not very mini at over 6ft and was dominant against a physical Toon.

But it was his ability to read the game that was so impressive – he is almost one pass ahead of everyone else.

He read where the next Newcastle pass was going and was there to press or cut it out.

Exactly 100 completed passes knitted City back together and kept them going forward against a stretched Newcastle.

EDERSON VOLLEYS

Another assist for City keeper Ederson showed his value, with that help from Haaland’s run.

But Ederson also hit some great passes out of his hands to the chests of the City widemen who maintained their width to stretch Newcastle sideways and loosen their grip on midfield.

The keeper also stepped into the defensive line to create an overload which meant Newcastle, who press 1v1, didn’t know whether to stick or twist.

NOW A REAL CHALLENGE

City set up in attack with a 2-3-5 shape, with the right-back inverting into midfield to give them more dominance and Josko Gvardiol providing attacking width on the left.

But that often leaves them exposed defensively, as Real showed in the final ten minutes of the 3-2 defeat in the first leg.

With the emergence of Nico and Marmoush, who were both subs in the game, Pep could opt to make it a more 3-2-5 shape with Stones staying in defence from right-back to replace the injured Manuel Akanji.

Nico could be trusted to play the ‘2-in-1’ role that Rodri plays in attack and defence and it could be Kevin De Bruyne who misses out in attack to allow Marmoush to play in attack for direct balls with Haaland again.

But it’s a big call for a big game!

Police have launched a probe into the unexplained death

He was found dead on a stretch of Calle Vicente Guerra Street – between the village of Guatiza and the Spanish island’s east coast.

The walker raised the alarm just after midday and emergency services rushed to the scene, but tragically could do nothing to save the holidaymaker.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His partner was waiting at their hotel for him to get back from the bike ride, and has received the tragic news.

The cause of his death is now being investigated by the Civil Guard.

Cops say there were no immediate signs of any injuries to suggest he had been struck by a car.

They are considering the possibility that he suffered a sudden medical problem whilst cycling and was unable to find help in time.

It’s not currently clear whether he had his mobile with him.

Investigators are awaiting the results of an autopsy to shed some light on his final moments.

A spokesperson for the local emergency services said they received a call at around 12:45pm about an unconscious man, and that two ambulances rushed to the scene.

The Brit was found at a spot around a 20 minute drive north of the Lanzarote capital Arrecife.

No more details about his identity have so far been released.

Cycling is a popular tourist activity on Lanzarote, where it suits all ability levels.

The roads on the island are generally well-maintained and lots of companies that offer rental bikes and guided trips.

David Beckham in surprise career move which could see him competing with wife Victoria

DAVID BECKHAM recently posed in his pants for Boss and also had deals with Adidas and H&M.

But the footballer-turned-entrepreneur now looks set to give his fashion designer wife Victoria a run for her money with his own clothing company.

Becks now looks set to give his fashion designer wife Victoria a run for her money with his own clothing company[/caption]

The former Manchester United star’s company DB Ventures filed a trademark application last week for a barcode-style logo.

In paperwork seen by Bizarre, he has requested that the trademark cover “clothing, footwear and headgear,” which certainly makes it sound like he has his eyes on a fashion empire.

A source said: “David is a style icon so it seems like a no-brainer for him to launch his own clothing range.

“Obviously he can earn a fortune by doing deals to be the face of other brands, but this would give him real control.

“It is very early days but the fact that he has a logo sorted which he has trademarked is a clear sign that a clothing brand is something he is interested in.

“But unlike Victoria, his clothes are more likely to be casual sportswear rather than high-end designer gear.”

Last year he said his love for fashion had existed from a young age, but that he had been encouraged in more recent years by Victoria.

Ballet shoes

He explained: “My wife added to the fashion side of my life when we met 27 years ago but even before then, I was always into fashion.

“Even at eight years old when I was page boy at my mum’s friend’s wedding.

“She asked if I wanted to wear a suit or if I wanted to wear tights and a pair of ballet shoes and I chose the tights and ballet shoes.

“So in all honesty, I never feel pressure. I enjoy wearing suits, I enjoy wearing casual clothes but I never feel pressure to look any certain way.”

Probably best to steer clear of tights and ballet shoes for your own collection though, Becks.

Stars shine for a funny 50th

THE stars were out in force in London for the Baftas, but over in New York, there was an equally star-studded celebration on Sunday evening.

The 50th anniversary do for hit US TV comedy show Saturday Night Live was attended by a host of celebs including Kim Kardashian, who wore a figure-hugging silver dress, and a dazzling Sabrina Carpenter.

They both took part in skits in front of a live audience, with Kim sporting an auburn wig for a skit opposite comedian and director Kristen Wiig, who brought back her character Dooneese Maharelle for the night.

Meanwhile Sabrina purposely sang badly for a karaoke sketch which also featured Pedro Pascal and Bad Bunny.

Miley Cyrus, Anya Taylor-Joy, Emma Stone and Dakota Johnson were in the audience, as was Cher and her music exec boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards, after she performed at another celebration for the programme on Friday.

And proving nothing was off limits, Ryan Reynolds made a tongue-in-cheek joke about his wife Blake Lively’s lawsuit battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

In a segment which saw the hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler chat to celebrities in the audience, he was asked “How’s it going?” before shadily replying: “Great! Why, what have you heard?”

The camera then panned to Blake who looked in shock at the planned gag.

That whole saga is no laughing matter but I’m glad they can make light of it.

EMMA CORRIN still lives in a house-share despite starring in massive movies Deadpool & Wolverine and Nosferatu.

Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with The National Lottery on Virgin Radio UK, Emma said: “There are five of us in a three-bedroom flat. The only rows we have are when someone, usually me, leaves mouldy veg in the fridge.”

Swash camps it up

SUGAR Hut, Sheesh Chigwell, and Lakeside Shopping Centre, watch out – a new Essex hotspot is on the way, thanks to Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon.

And it sounds like the pair plan to bring a little luxury to the area.

I can reveal the lovebirds are over-hauling their £1.3million home, Pickle Cottage, to create a posh glamping retreat.

Joe hopes to turn the 2.5-acre grounds of the Tudor-style mansion into a haven for nature lovers.

He said: “I’m thinking a couple of yurts, a couple of little hot tubs, a little bit of glamping so people can come and stay on the grounds.

“I want to make somewhere where you can come and eat good food and bring your wife and she won’t mind you fishing because she’ll have enough things to do. Hopefully, the public will book and come and stay. That’s the big goal – to have a really nice glamping place where people can come and just enjoy nature.”

Joe is already overseeing the development of the fishing lake that will form the heart of the new project.

But it sounds like he will need to keep DIY-fan Stacey away from the design of the holiday park.

He added: “Stacey does have these moments where she has creative bursts. Once, I came home and she had covered the whole utility room in Barbie pink plastic sticky vinyl.

“My argument to Stacey was, ‘Imagine if you’d come home and I’d camouflaged a whole room in a fishing theme’.”

Er, isn’t that what you’re up to with the lake, Joe?

GUNS N’ ROSES have joined the mega line-up for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s final show, Back To The Beginning on July 5.

No wonder tickets sold out in ten minutes.
