Major bank with 27million customers to make huge change to fees

A MAJOR bank with over 27million customers is making a huge change to fees in months.

Lloyds Bank is increasing the monthly charge on its Club Lloyds package bank account in June.

Lloyds has kept its Club Lloyds fee unchanged for over eight years[/caption]

Club Lloyds is a current account which provides additional benefits compared to their standard account.

It functions like a regular current account, allowing direct debits, standing orders, and other standard banking operations.

However, it also offers a range of lifestyle benefits, cashback rewards, and access to linked savings accounts with preferential interest rates.

At the moment there’s a monthly fee of £3, but this is waived if you deposit £2,000 or more into the account each month.

However, from June 2, this fee will rise to £5 per month, potentially adding up to £24 more per year for those who do not meet the £2,000 monthly deposit requirement.

This change will also affect customers with Club Lloyds Silver and Club Lloyds Platinum current accounts, as they are charged the standard Club Lloyds monthly fee in addition to their respective account fees of £11.50 per month for Silver and £22.50 per month for Platinum.

Despite the changes, Lloyds Bank is also introducing some additional benefits to these packaged bank accounts.

From April 14, Club Lloyds customers will no longer incur foreign currency or cash withdrawal fees when using their debit card abroad.

This benefit is already available to Silver and Platinum account holders, but from the spring, it will become standard for all Club Lloyds customers.

From the same date, Lloyds Bank will increase the interest-free allowance on Club Lloyds arranged overdrafts.

An overdraft enables you to borrow money through your current account if you run out of cash.

Typically, there’s a fee for going overdrawn, which increases the more you borrow.

However, some banks, including Lloyds, provide interest-free buffers, meaning no interest is charged until your borrowing exceeds a specific threshold.

From April 14, Lloyds will raise this threshold, so you won’t be charged daily interest on the first £100 you borrow – up from the current £50 limit.

A Lloyds spokesperson said: “Our Club Lloyds range offers our customers lifestyle benefits including Disney+, cinema tickets, and magazine subscriptions, and access to market leading mortgage and savings rates.

“From April 14, customers will be able to spend on debit card abroad without any fees. Almost 90% of our customers get these benefits for free each month”

Lloyds has kept its Club Lloyds fee unchanged for over eight years.

However, in July last year, the bank increased the monthly charges for its Silver and Platinum Club accounts by £1.50 a month.

This took the monthly Silver fee from £10 to £11.50 and the Platinum fee from £21 to £22.50.

What do Club Lloyds accounts offer?

Club Lloyds (£3 a month)

  • Free lifestyle benefits including either 12 months of Disney+ or six cinema tickets
  • Exclusive savings and mortgage rates
  • Earn interest on current account balance
  • Get up to 15% cashback on debit card purchases in selected retailers

Club Lloyds Silver (£11.50 a month + £3)

  • Free lifestyle benefits including either 12 months of Disney+ or six cinema tickets
  • Exclusive savings and mortgage rates
  • Earn interest on current account balance
  • Get up to 15% cashback on debit card purchases in selected retailers
  • European and UK family travel insurance
  • AA breakdown cover
  • Mobile phone insurance
  • Fee-free spending and cash withdrawals abroad

Club Lloyds Platinum (£22.50 a month + £3)

  • Free lifestyle benefits including either 12 months of Disney+ or six cinema tickets
  • Exclusive savings and mortgage rates
  • Earn interest on current account balance
  • Get up to 15% cashback on debit card purchases in selected retailers
  • Worldwide family travel insurance
  • AA breakdown cover
  • Mobile phone insurance

What other packed bank account options are there?

If you use package bank accounts correctly, they can save you £100s off the cost of breakdown, travel, mobile and gadget insurance.

When weighing up the value of these accounts it’s important to review the levels of cover offered and consider whether you will use all of the benefits included.

If not, then these may not be the best option for you.

Here are some examples of the best package bank accounts currently available.

Nationwide FlexPlus packaged bank account costs £18 a month and offers a host of additional services and perks.

These benefits include worldwide travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, breakdown cover, and preferential rates on loans and overdrafts.

NatWest

NatWest’s Reward Silver account costs £10 a month and offers European travel insurance for trips of up to 22 days.

How do I switch bank accounts?

SWITCHING bank accounts is a simple process and can usually be done through the Current Account Switch Service (CASS).

Dozens of high street banks and building societies are signed up – there’s a full list on CASS’ website.

Under the switching service, swapping banks should take seven working days.

You don’t have to remember to move direct debits across when moving, as this is done for you.

All you have to do is apply for the new account you want, and the new bank will tell your existing one you’re moving.

There are a few things you can do before switching though, including choosing your switch date and transferring any old bank statements to your new account.

You should get in touch with your existing bank for any old statements.

When switching current accounts, consider what other perks might come with joining a specific bank or building society.

Some banks offer 0% overdrafts up to a certain limit, and others might offer better rates on savings accounts.

And some banks offer free travel or mobile phone insurance with their current accounts – but these accounts might come with a monthly fee.

Top chef who closed Michelin-praised restaurant teases next step & reveals why he’s shut down fine-dining joint

A TOP chef, who recently announced the closure of his Michelin-praised restaurant, has teased his next project.

Roger Hickman also revealed why he had mysteriously shut down the fine-dining joint in Norwich.

Roger Hickman’s will close on March 30[/caption]

The hailed chef, who will be closing the doors of the self-named Richard Hickman’s Restaurant on March 30, said it did not spell the end of his time in the industry.

He said: “While the restaurant as we know it will close, I’m looking forward to focusing on a few different projects and investments.

“I’ll also continue to offer personal private dining services in customers’ homes and, until the sale goes through, I will make the restaurant and its private dining room available for private hire and special events.”

Roger opened the beloved venue in February 2010 – later winning three AA rosettes and a recommendation in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

The joint served up up-market British cuisine, including fish dishes and local meat – praised as “modern” and “intricate”.

But the top chef admitted “the industry has changed dramatically”.

“It’s been an extraordinary journey, but after 15 years, I’ve decided it’s time to put the restaurant on the market for sale,” he explained.

“The industry has changed dramatically and so have the ways in which people dine.

“Rather than trying to reinvent the wheel, I feel it is the right moment to move on.”

He also acknowledged the significant challenges the hospitality industry has faced in recent years.

“The cost of living crisis, skyrocketing utility bills and the rising costs of produce and materials have made it difficult to operate,” he said.

“These pressures have forced menu prices to rise but at the same time customers simply don’t have the resources to dine as often as they would like.

“With fewer bums on seats and the ever-increasing expenses, it’s become almost impossible for small businesses to survive.”

Hickman was for many years the head chef of Adlard’s, which had a Michelin star, and took over the site when founding chef David Adlard moved on.

Celebrity chefs Tom Kerridge and Aiden Byrne, who is a close personal friend of Hickman, also worked in this kitchen.

Despite its success, Hickman’s was the subject of a scathing review from Jay Rayner for The Guardian in 2016, who called the partridge dish a “disaster” and even suggested the pumpkin soup could have been made from puppy.

The establishment was handed a one-star hygiene rating in 2021 and a two-star rating in 2024 by city food inspectors – but quickly bounced back to a perfect five stars in the following months.

At the time, Hickman said: “We have all really taken on board the feedback from the council at the last visit which related specifically to an additional piece of equipment required, the movement of a blue roll dispenser and updated training for the team.”

The closure comes as another top chef has been forced to shut down his Michelin-starred restaurant just months after it lost its star.

Leroy, in Leonard Street, Shoreditch, sadly announced it would be closing its doors after seven years of serving devoted fans.

Meanwhile, another TV star opened up about his “lost dream” after shutting an award-winning restaurant.

Top chef Simon Wood said his fine dining establishment WOOD, in Manchester, said things were “bleak” amid the forced closure.

Elsewhere, another restaurant owner was forced to shut his Michelin-starred establishment overnight, claiming the decision was completely out of his hands.

The eatery was boarded up after the landlord “made the decision to close” the doors.

Plus, a chef who worked at one of Jamie Oliver’s restaurants has announced he will shutter his food spot, leaving diners devastated.

Experts say the cost of living crisis has left customers favouring a cheap dinner over splashing out on fancy evenings in expensive restaurants, and this has made celeb chefs think twice about whether it’s worth continuing to run their business.

What is happening to the hospitality industry?

By Laura McGuire, consumer reporter

MANY Food and drink chains have been struggling in recently as the cost of living has led to fewer people spending on eating out.

Businesses had been struggling to bounce back after the pandemic, only to be hit with soaring energy bills and inflation.

Multiple chains have been affected, resulting in big-name brands like Wetherspoons and Frankie & Benny’s closing branches.

Some chains have not survived, Byron Burger fell into administration last year, with owners saying it would result in the loss of over 200 jobs.

Pizza giant, Papa Johns is shutting down 43 of its stores soon.

Tasty, the owner of Wildwood, said it will shut sites as part of major restructuring plans.

Nestle launches new KitKat flavour never seen in the UK before in major supermarkets

NESTLE has launched a new KitKat flavour in the UK that has never been seen before in major supermarkets.

Eagle-eyed shoppers were shocked to see the maker of the iconic chocolate is now selling a mocha flavoured version of the snack.

KitKat Nescafé Mocha flavour chocolate bar.
Kit Kat has launched a new flavour of chocolate inspired by coffee

The launch is a collaboration with Nescafe, the instant coffee maker also owned by Nestle, and is inspired by its mocha chocolate sachets.

Mocha is a coffee drink that combines espresso, chocolate, and milk.

Shoppers spotted the snack on the aisle of their local Sainsbury’s, and were quick to share their excitement.

One person said they “needed” to try the new treat, while another said they would “pick some up next time I see them”.

The product is new to UK supermarkets and retails for around £2.25.

Sainsbury’s is currently selling the chocolate for £2.20, with other supermarkets not yet appearing to stock the product.

You can either shop the product in store or via Sainsbury’s online grocery website.

The chocolate will only be available in smaller, two-finger-sized bars, meaning you will have to buy it as part of a multi-pack.

It contains 109 calories per bar.

Angelica De Los Rios Granja, brand manager for KitKat at Nestlé UK & Ireland, said: “We are beyond excited to announce this year’s collaboration between KitKat and Nescafé.

“This partnership brings together two beloved brands to create the ultimate break experience.”

“The rich, warming taste of Nescafé mocha flavour, combined with our classic KitKat two-finger chocolate biscuit, offers a perfect way to elevate your coffee break to a new level.”

It is not the only new Kit Kat flavour to launch in recent weeks.

Nestle has launched a new-style KitKat sharing bar in three flavours, sending fans wild.

The new product is a bar of KitKat pieces that sees crispy wafer fingers topped with flavoured fillings and coated in chocolate.

The double chocolate bars feature a cocoa-flavoured filling, covered with thick, milk and dark chocolate marbled swirls.

Salted caramel bars see a filling covered in thick caramel flavour milk chocolate and marbled swirls, while the hazelnut-filled bars are covered in thick, milk and dark chocolate marbled swirls.

The KitKat bars have been found in branches of Tesco, where they were being sold for £1.50 each.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW AT NESTLE

It comes after Nestle has confirmed it is discontinuing a rare KitKat bar.

The chocolate maker is axing its Vegan bar from shelves due to dwindling demand from customers.

A spokesperson for Nestle said: “Unfortunately, global demand has been reducing to the point that production was making manufacturing more and more complex and we have now made the difficult decision to discontinue the product.”

The spokesperson added the bar will still be available to buy in the UK and Republic of Ireland until summer.

The 41.5g four-finger bar is still in stock on the he MorrisonsAsda and Tesco websites for £1.

How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.

Best casino apps: Top 10 mobile casinos in the UK (2025)

MOBILE gaming continues to grow and it’s only getting more and more popular.

So every major operator worth their salt will now have their own app for players.

Let’s be honest, taking gaming to a player’s fingertips is such a crucial part of the experience so they’d be silly not to!

But do you know the best one out there and where to find them? Well, now you can…

I’ve picked out the best 10 mobile casino apps out there. We ranked them in order of quality based on performance optimization, user experience, security, and other factors you can find if you scroll down. On top of that we’re highlighting what they can offer and the bonuses YOU can claim – as well as much more!

Top 10 casino apps in 2025

A closer look at our favourite casino apps

Narrowing down my favourite online casino apps is so no easy task. After reviewing a wide range of online casino apps available to players in the UK, I have carefully selected the following 10 apps as the best to download.

1. Betway casino app

  • Our rating: 4.62
  • Google Play rating: 4.3
  • App Store rating: 5.0

Betway is one of the UK’s most established bookmakers and one of my go-to sites for sports betting. It also offers a brilliant online casino app totally separate from sports betting, so ensure you download the correct app when playing. The first time I opened the casino app, I was struck by how sleek and intuitive the interface felt—navigating between slots, live dealer games, and jackpots was seamless, even for a first-time user. I particularly enjoyed the live roulette tables, where the dealers were friendly and the HD streaming quality made it feel like I was sitting in a real casino.

The slot selection is impressive, and the stylish black-and-white colour scheme is easy on the eyes. If you’re a fan of tournaments and big jackpots, Betway is going to be right up your street. During a recent slot tournament, I was hooked by the real-time leaderboard updates, which added a competitive edge to my spins—it’s a feature I haven’t seen executed as well on many other apps.

I am also a fan of the Betway’s welcome bonus, with new players getting 125 free spins to use on Big Bass Hold & Spinner, one of my favourite slot games of recent years.

betway casino app

2. Casumo casino app

  • Our rating: 4.88
  • Google Play rating: 4.0
  • App Store rating: 4.5

When it comes to mobile casino apps, Casumo is a fantastic choice. It delivers across the board, providing players with a selection of over 2,000 games from some of the industry’s biggest developers, a smooth sign-up process, excellent responsible gambling features, and a great mix of bonuses for new and existing customers.

From the moment I downloaded the app, I was impressed by how quickly I could jump into a live blackjack table—no lag, even during peak hours. The “Adventure Bonus” system also kept gameplay engaging, rewarding me with surprise free spins after hitting small milestones, which felt uniquely motivating compared to standard loyalty programs.

Don’t just take my word for it, though. The app has also received a 4.5 and 4.0 in the App and Google Play stores, respectively, with customers praising its usability, game selection, and more.

casumo casino app

4. BetMGM casino app

  • Our rating: 4.60
  • Google Play rating: 4.3
  • App Store rating: 4.8

I have been a big fan of BetMGM since it arrived in the UK in late 2023 and it is an operator that just continues to grow in my estimation. Unsurprisingly, its stylish online casino gaming brand makes an effortless transition onto mobile devices.

While the casino selection here is impressive, it is the exclusive titles that keep me coming back for more, with the operator working with top names to offer exclusive, branded games. The MGM Millions progressive jackpot is also a big attraction, and unlike a lot of progressives, it crosses over between slot and live casino games.

If you like loyalty programs, the BetMGM Rewards program is one of the best on the market, giving its members access to exclusive perks and bonuses.

betmgm casino app

4. Betfred casino app

  • Our rating: 4.72
  • Google Play rating: 4.3
  • App Store rating: 4.5

Betfred is one of the best-known bookmakers in the UK, and its mobile casino app is an absolute joy to use. The app is nicely designed, enabling players to easily switch between their favourite games, deposit funds, and claim bonuses. Speaking of bonuses, the welcome bonus is also a cracker, offering players 200 free spins when they deposit £10 within 30 days of signing up. When I claimed the offer, the spins were instantly credited—no back-and-forth with support—and I loved how smoothly I could toggle between grinding slots like Starburst and checking live scores for weekend football matches.

It is worth noting that Betfred does not offer as many titles as other casinos, with only 200 available. This is because the app is clearly more focused on sports bettors. During a busy Saturday afternoon of Premier League games, I was blown away by how effortlessly the app handled live betting updates and my simultaneous spins on Age of the Gods Roulette—no freezing, no fuss. However, I have always found the selection here to be top-quality, and, as I’ve mentioned, it provides an exceptionally smooth customer experience.

betfred casino app

5. Unibet casino app

  • Our rating: 4.42
  • Google Play rating: 4.5
  • App Store rating: 4.7

Unibet is another leading brand in the UK that knocks it out of the park with both sports betting and casino options. Unlike some of the other major operators, I should note that Unibet has separate apps for its casino, sports betting, and poker games.

There is a lot to like about the Unibet Casino app. The slot collection is very impressive, and like bet365 and BetMGM, it has a range of exclusive and branded slots to enjoy. One of my favourite things about the casino app is the instant-win titles. If you are a fan of Slingo or scratchcards, you will find plenty to enjoy here.

unibet casino app

6. bet365 Games app

  • Our rating: 4.52
  • Google Play rating: 4.1
  • App Store rating: 4.5

For me, bet365 has always been amazing when it comes to interface and usability. The bet365 mobile app is a joy to use, from its smooth sign-up process to its filtering options. However, it also has plenty of substance to match its style, offering a good selection of slots and a solid number of casino games.

Its exclusive titles are a big selling point, though it is worth noting it doesn’t have the same high number of games as some of the other apps on this list. However, bet365 makes up for it with its impressive selection of bonuses and its stylish user experience.

bet365 casino app

7. Virgin Games app

  • Our rating: 4.37
  • Google Play rating: 4.6
  • App Store rating: 4.6

If you are new to the world of online casino play, then Virgin Games would be one of the first mobile casino apps I would recommend. The app is really user-friendly, and with over 900 games to choose from, there is enough here to sink your teeth into but not too much to be overwhelmed. When I first downloaded the app, I appreciated how clean and straightforward the layout was—finding my favourite slots like Rainbow Riches took seconds, and the search bar made it easy to explore new games without feeling lost. Virgin Games is an operator that keeps things basic, and this is perfect for new users.

The site also welcomes new players with 100 free spins for Double Bubble when they make their first £10 deposit. What stood out most for me was how smoothly the app ran—no crashes or delays, even during extended play sessions.

virgin games casino app

8. PokerStars casino app

  • Our rating: 4.39
  • Google Play rating: 3.7
  • App Store rating: 4.4

You might think that PokerStars is only an operator that caters to poker players, but you’d be wrong. In fact, the Pokerstars Casino app is one of my go-to apps for live casino and table games. The site has a range of exclusive titles available and regularly runs tournaments where you can get your hands on big prizes.

It’s not just table and live-dealer games on offer, though. The app also offers a comprehensive selection of online slots, including titles from industry-leading developers like Play’n Go and Pragmatic Play.

I am also a huge fan of the stylish red and black colour scheme at PokerStars. Not only is it easy on the eye, but there is never any visual clutter, with the app being really easy to navigate.

9. 888 Casino app

  • Our rating: 4.27
  • Google Play rating: 4.0
  • App Store rating: 4.5

Like Unibet and Betway, players should know that 888 Casino is a separate app from other parts of their service. I’m a big fan of the 888 brand, and the 888 Casino mobile app is one of their best offerings. As well as boasting over 2,000 slot games, it has an excellent live casino offering.

What I like most about 888 Casino is the range of regularly updated promotions it has. The operator has various promotions, including free spins, cashback offers, and deposit bonuses. You can also spin the bonus wheel for free day every day, which means there is always something new to get your hands on.

888casino app

10. Hot Streak Slots app

  • Our rating: 4.29
  • Google Play rating: 2.9
  • App Store rating: 4.5

Hot Streak Slots certainly lives up to its name, providing players with over 1,500 slots to try their chances at. The developer works with many of the industry’s biggest names, and I had no problem finding top-quality slots to play there.

The most attractive thing about Hot Streak Slots for me is the selection of welcome bonuses, including the mobile app exclusive bonus. New players who sign-up with the mobile app can claim up to 100 free spins with their first deposit. A no-deposit bonus also rewards free spins to use on NetEnt’s Finn and the Swirly Spin.

How we picked the best mobile casino apps in the UK

Our team of expert casino writers have a thorough process for reviewing mobile casino apps and deciding which ones to recommend to our readers. Several important factors are considered, with a casino expecting to meet our standards to be considered for a spot on our list. The following are the most important factors we consider when reviewing a mobile casino app.

  • Licensing and security: All mobile apps we recommend must be licensed and regulated by the United Kingdom Gambling Authority (UKGC). However, this is a minimum requirement, and we like to see operators go above and beyond to ensure their players are kept safe. I always check to see if any third-party auditors have approved the site, and I will also highlight the KYC process and encryption protocols.
  • Casino bonuses and offers: No modern online casino app is worth exploring if it does not offer a range of bonuses and promotions for new and existing customers. I like to see a good mix of different bonus types, including free spins, deposit bonuses, no-deposit bonuses, and more. Likewise, we will always read through the terms & conditions of bonuses to ensure they are not too complex and make for an effortless customer experience.
  • Mobile game selection: Casino game selection is important, and that’s why I favour casinos that have games from top developers in the industry. Top names like Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play’n Go, and Games Global are a sign of quality. When it comes to live casino action, companies like Playtech and Evolution are a perfect choice and popular among players in the UK.
  • User experience: Finally, the user experience is also a major factor in whether we recommend a mobile casino app. This includes everything from customer support to how easy the sign-up process is. An app can offer as many games and bonuses as it likes, but if it is difficult to use or sign up for, chances are you will turn away.

How we evaluate online casinos

Our team goes through a thorough evaluation process with each mobile casino app we recommend. Our dedicated team of casino experts will analyse the app for all of the factors mentioned above, as well as other important factors, such as payment methods and responsible gambling resources.

Once we have done this, we will assign each app a score using our detailed ranking factors and then compare and contrast them with one another to determine which are the ones we are going to recommend to our readers.

Advantages of casinos with mobile apps

You might be wondering why you would want to download a mobile casino app when you can just access the mobile casino using browsers. It’s a valid question, but there are many advantages to using a mobile casino app over a standard mobile casino.

  • Easy access on the go: One of the most significant advantages of using a mobile casino app is how easy they are to access and use on the go. You can simply click the app icon on your home screen and spin the reels of your favourite games in a matter of minutes.
  • Mobile-only bonuses: Some operators will have special bonuses that can be accessed on mobile apps. Also, in my experience, it can be much easier to keep track of progress on loyalty-based bonuses on mobile casino apps.
  • Better user experience: Perhaps the biggest selling point of mobile casino apps is their enhanced customer experience. While most casinos are designed with mobile users in mind, mobile casino apps are designed specifically for them. The sign-up process, deposit options, and every other part of the user experience are all optimised fully for mobile use, making mobile casino apps an excellent choice.

Games available at mobile casinos

Of course, games are arguably the most important of any online casino experience. An app can tick all of the boxes we have listed throughout this guide, but if it has a small supply of games, or even worse, a big supply of bad games, then no one is going to want to download it. The following are the most popular types of games available on mobile casino apps.

  • Slots: Slots are the beating heart of any online casino lobby. When reviewing mobile casino apps, we will check for not just the number of games available but also the variety of slot mechanics and features. A good mobile slot selection will offer standard video slots, classic three-reel slots, Megaways, progressive jackpot slots, and more.
  • Live dealer games: If you enjoy a more immersive casino experience, then live dealer games will be high on your list of priorities. The live-dealer experience makes an incredibly smooth transition onto mobile screens, allowing players to play against live-dealers and other players in real time using their mobile devices.
  • Classic table games: If live table games are not for you, then all of the mobile casino apps we have listed here will have a selection of virtual table games for you to enjoy. Classic hits like roulette, baccarat, blackjack, and more will all be available in mobile formats.

Payment methods for casino apps: What’s available?

There is no point in me recommending a top online casino if you cannot get your funds in and out of your account. The following are the most popular payment methods available on UK mobile casino apps.

Debit Cards

Debit cards are still the most popular way for players to deposit funds at top UK online casinos. Using these is a fairly straightforward process, with players needing to enter their card details on the site, enter their deposit amount, and complete the payment.

I use two-factor authentication on all of my banking methods, which requires me to log in to my banking app and confirm the payment before my funds are deposited to the casino. I recommend doing the same to provide an extra level of security.

Players should also note that if they want to withdraw using a banking method, they must make a deposit using it first. Players are also not permitted to use credit cards for deposits, as per UKGC regulations

Apple Pay and Google Pay

Apple Pay and Google Pay are especially popular with mobile casino app users due to their convenience. If you have never used either of these, the setup is simple: you add your cards to a virtual wallet, which can be easily accessed when you deposit funds.

Players must confirm the deposit using a face ID, pin code or password. When you have done this, the funds will instantly be added to your account.

Pay via Phone

Pay via Phone is an option that has become increasingly popular with mobile bettors in recent years. When you use this, any deposits you make will be automatically added to your next phone bill or deducted from any funds you might already have in your mobile account.

E-wallets

E-wallets are one of the most convenient ways to deposit and withdraw funds from your chosen mobile casino app. Popular e-wallets include PayPal, Neteller, and Skrill. In our experience, players should be aware that they might be restricted from some online casino promotions and bonuses depending on which e-wallet they use. As such, we recommend reading through the terms & conditions of any bonus before claiming it.

Android casinos vs iOS casinos: What’s the difference

The Android vs iOS debate has raged on in tech circles for years, but does it have any impact on online casinos and their apps? In terms of functionality, the answer is not really. However, it may have a big impact on availability.

Android will allow users to install apps from third-party sources, or by using .apk files, while Apple restricts this, which means some casino apps (not the ones listed in this guide) may only be available on Android.

The most significant difference in terms of experience will be with payment methods, with Apple Pay and Google Pay being exclusive to their native platforms. You will also experience this if you use Google Chrome or Safari.

Ultimately, it will come down to personal preference and which platforms you find best serve your online casino experience.

FAQ about casino apps in the UK

Still have some questions about using mobile casino apps in the UK? Hopefully, the following questions will help clear up any lingering doubts.

1. Why are online casinos with mobile apps more popular?

Mobile apps add an extra layer of convenience to the overall gaming experience, significantly enhancing the overall online casino experience for players. With all modern games being optimised for mobile use, there are no downsides to switching from a desktop to a mobile device.

2. Can you use your smartphone to play at an online casino that doesn’t have a dedicated app?

Yes. Almost all online casinos are now designed with mobile users in mind and will offer fully optimised mobile sites. These can be played using the mobile versions of popular browsers like Google Chrome and Safari.

3. Are UK casino apps safe to use?

Yes. All UK casino apps we have listed in this guide are 100% safe to use. If you are going to use a casino app in the UK, you should first check if the United Kingdom Gambling Commission licenses it

4. What are some of the best casino apps in the UK?

The choice of the best casino app will ultimately come down to personal preference. Favourites of ours at The Sun include Casumo, bet365, Betway, and Hot Streak Slots, to name just a few.
