‘I want to find them’ Moonpig customers mock Valentine’s Day fails after being sent card & mugs with STRANGERS’ faces on
MOONPIG customers have been mocking Valentine’s Day fails after being sent mugs and a card with the face of strangers on instead of their loved ones.
Several of those who have received gifts bearing the smiling faces of other loved-up couples have launched searches in a bid to return them.

The unlucky customers had placed their Valentine’s Day orders early in the hope of surprising their loved ones.
But, when their intended gifts arrived they didn’t recognise the faces looking back at them.
Taking to Facebook to share her Valentine’s Day fail one customer said: “As part [of] a Valentine’s present, I ordered Ross a mug from Moonpig with photos of us on it.
“The mug in the attached photos is what arrived today. Needless to say, the photos here are not us.
“Please can we find this couple through the power of Facebook. Share far and wide people so we can get this to the right couple.”
Friends shared laughing emojis on seeing the mix-up, but it doesn’t seem that the couple in question have been found.
Another customer who had received a mug with strangers’ faces on it also took to Facebook to try and find them.
She said: “Well thanks Moonpig for the lovely mug I’ve bought Liam for Valentine’s. Not sure who this lovely couple is, but I’ll enjoy a cuppa from it.
“(If by chance you recognise these two please let me know and I’ll try and post it before Valentine’s Day).”
These are not the only failures to have been shared this Valentine’s Day.
Another Moonpig customer said they’d received a card with the wrong name on it.
He said: “Dunno who Richard is, but I bet he loves it too.”
If you’ve been left looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift don’t panic.
Many shoppers are running to M&S to nab last-minute Valentine’s Day gifts for less than £10.
You can also pick up flowers from all major supermarkets and we’ve rounded up the cheapest.
If you’re still looking for a romantic meal these are the best value supermarket Valentine’s Day meal deals up for grabs.
And, we’ve even taste tested all those on the market.
What are your rights?
If you receive an item and it’s not what you ordered or not what was advertised by the seller you have rights.
The Consumer Rights Act states that goods you’ve paid for should be of satisfactory quality, as described, fit for purpose and last a reasonable length of time.
If these conditions are not met then responsibility lies with the retailer you bought the product from.
If you ordered the product online you have 14 days from the date you received it to return it for a full refund.
If you bought something in store you have 30 days to get your money back if it’s faulty.
After this time the retailer has the option to repair the item.
How to save money on Valentine's Day
ADELE Cooke, a senior consumer reporter at The Sun, explains how to save money on Valentine’s Day.
If you’re not careful Valentine’s Day can end up hitting your wallet.
I explain how to avoid the traps.
AVOID THE SET MENU
As February 14 falls on a Friday this year, consider going out for a meal on Saturday instead.
This is because many restaurants insist that you must order a set menu on Valentine’s Day, which can be very expensive.
Usually this is not the case on other days.
Some of the set menu items may also be on the regular dinner menu, so you can still order them without paying a premium.
LOVE IS…FINDING A DISCOUNT CODE
If you do want to go out for dinner on Valentine’s Day then look for restaurant deals on The Fork.
This website shows you all the restaurants with special offers and deals in your area.
If you’re eating in this year, you could save money with one of the dine-in-for-two options above.
Check the individual cost of each item in the deal to ensure you’re making the biggest saving.
Keep an eye out for discounts and vouchers in the run up to February 14.
Some companies run special promotions in the lead up to the big day.
Check websites such as Groupon, which offers special dining options or experiences.
DON’T OVERSPEND
It can be easy to fall into the trap of overspending when it comes to spoiling a loved one.
But if you do, you’ll be causing yourself long term financial pain.
I’m sure if you have a chat with your partner and explain what your budget is before February 14th then you can both be on the same page and you’ll avoid disappointing them.

Brit drivers must watch out for three important new alerts on Google Maps – don’t ignore them
DRIVERS using Google Maps may notice a number of important new warnings appear on the app from today.
More types of incident reports have been spotted on the platform lately which must not be ignored.

The app has been introducing a growing number of features seen on Waze, which is also owned by Google.
At the end of last year, we saw the ability to report police sightings on Google Maps.
And now some more alerts have started cropping up.
So far, they’ve only been seen on Android Auto dashboards – not to be confused with Android phones.
And it’s landed on the iOS version of Google Maps too.
It will likely roll out to Android phones at some point soon.
Android Police reports that three new alerts have began appearing.
And the trio are all important for road safety.
They are:
- Flooded road
- Low visibility
- Unplowed road
Of course, flooded road alerts are there to warn you after a heavy rain downpour.
Low visibility will appear when an area is suffering with dense fog.
And unplowed road will pop up after hefty snowfall for roads that may be too tricky drive through.
The alerts are handy but some motorists have already complained that there are too many on the app.
“The alerts are not only unhelpful 99% of the time, they are actively distracting while trying to drive and also interrupt whatever music or podcasts you’re trying to listen to on your road trip,” one user recently wrote on Reddit.
“Every 3 minutes I would hear “ping ping! There’s police up ahead” followed by a dialog box asking me to confirm if what it just told me is even true or not *facepalm*.”
Another commented: “I totally agree, I hate it.”
What are the UK speed limits?

These are the speed limits for every type of road vehicle in the UK.
- Built-up areas
The speed limit for all types of vehicles in built-up areas is 30mph.
Be it a car, a motorcycle, a bus or a heavy vehicle, across the UK, you can only drive at 30mph in such roads.
- Single carriageways
The speed limits in single carriageways vary between vehicles.
In such a road, the speed limits for:
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived van or a dual-purpose vehicle is 60mph.
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived can or a dual-purpose vehicle when towing a caravan or a trailer is 50mph.
- A motorhome or motor caravan that is not more than 3.05 tonnes is 60mph.
- A motorhome or motor caravan that is more than 3.05 tonnes is 50mph.
- All buses, coaches and minibuses, be it if they are under 12 metres long or over, is 50mph.
- Goods vehicles that do not carry more than 7.5 tonnes, is 50mph.
- Good vehicles that carry more than 7.5 tonnes in England and Wales, is 50mph.
- Goods vehicles that carry more than 7.5 tonnes in Scotland, is 40mph.
- Dual carriageways
The speed limits in dual carriageways vary too, depending on the type of vehicle.
The speed limit for:
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived can or a dual-purpose vehicle is 70mph.
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived van or a dual-purpose vehicle towing a caravan or a trailer is 60mph.
- A motorhome or a motor caravan carrying less than 3.05 tonnes is 70mph.
- A motorhome or a motor caravan carrying more than 3.05 tonnes is 60mph.
- Buses, coaches and minibuses is always 60mph, no matter whether they are longer than 12 metres or not.
- A goods vehicle carrying less than 7.5 tonnes is 60mph.
- A goods vehicle carrying more than 7.5 tonnes in England and Wales is 60mph.
- A goods vehicle carrying more than 7.5 tonnes in Scotland is 50mph.
- Motorways
On a motorway, the speed limits depends on what vehicle you are driving too.
The speed limit for:
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived van or a dual-purpose vehicle is 70mph.
- A car, a motorcycle, a car-derived van or a dual-purpose vehicle towing a caravan or a trailer is 60mph.
- A motorhome or a motor caravan carrying less or more than 3.05 tonnes is 70mph.
- A bus, a coach or a minibus that is shorter than 12 metres is 70mph.
- A bus, a coach or a minibus longer than 12 metres is 60mph.
- A goods vehicle carrying less than 7.5 tonnes is 70mph, but if it is towing a trailer, then it must be driven at 60mph.
- A good vehicle carrying more than 7.5 tonnes in England, Wales or Scotland is 60mph.
It’s good to note some following changes that may be applied to how your vehicle is classified while driving:
- If your van is loaded with less than two tonnes, then it is considered as a car-derived van or dual-purpose vehicle.
- If your motorhome or motor caravan is either carrying goods for exhibition or used as a workshop or to keep storage, then they are classified as a goods vehicle.
‘Best kids’ place ever’- huge indoor play centre with UK’s largest playframe that mums are raving about
THE Riverside Hub in Northampton is every parent’s dream.
The play centre has got everything to occupy kids from soft play to sensory rooms, go-karting, laser tag and it even has the largest playframe in the UK.

TikToker Louise Pentland raved about her recent visit to the Riverside Hub in Northampton, calling it her daughter’s “idea of heaven”.
And it’s got other mums talking too. One commented and said “it’s the best soft play we’ve ever been to”.
Another described it as the “perfect day out”.
The play centre offers fun for kids of all ages, even babies, and has lots of different spaces to explore.
The under five’s area has a water bed, dolphin carousel and they’ve recently added a ball pool.
For ages between two and five, there are sensory rooms with murals and light effects.
There’s a role-play village with props for playing cafe, garage, shop, a doctors, vets, building site, beauty salon and restaurant.
The biggest attraction is the playframe, which is the largest in the UK and suitable for all ages set across various heights.
For beginners, there’s a big oak tree, and for older children, a ten-metre-high beanstalk.
The whole frame is set at a two-metre head height so adults can go on it with their kids too.

In the centre is a 9-hole course of crazy golf that’s space-themed with lights. With the admission fee, you can play unlimited games – just bring your own golf ball.
A giant play area is set across four levels and is what they call the “ultimate soft-play”.
On one of the floors there’s even a football pitch with interactive games and two slides.
At no extra charge kids can have a go on the electric go-karts. And there’s space for a parent to sit in the back if any kids need help around the track.
For any competitive children, there’s the chance to play some laser tag for anyone aged four and upwards.
For SEN children, they organise dedicated SEND events every month.

On-site is a cafe where they offer healthy meals and snacks. On their website, they specifically say everything is oven baked and not fried.
They have everything from pizza to pasta, paninis, sausages and jacket potatoes.
But they do offer tasty teats too like ice cream milkshakes.
Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, for children between one and three it’s £13.50.
For children between four and 17, it’s £16.50, and for babies (under 12 months), it’s £6.
They also offer saver days, which you can check on their calendar, where they offer 20 per cent off with entry before 2pm.
They also offer 40 per cent off after 2pm, Monday to Thursday, from January to November.
We also found a indoor and outdoor play centre with splash zones and zip lines.
And a train station with a little-known family zone.
This is the best-kept secret playground

Belton House is home to a huge playground with £2 tickets...
Belton House offers free admission for children under five, is home to what is officially the National Trust‘s largest outdoor kid’s adventure playground.
Open daily, it features incredible wooden constructions set in an ancient wilderness, within which little ones can explore by swinging, climbing and jumping their way through obstacles.
There are rope bridges, long slides and swings among the many playtime options, which cater to a range of ages and abilities.
One of playground highlights is the opportunity to ride in a miniature train, which usually operates Friday to Sunday or every day during Lincolnshire school holidays.
Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1.50 for children, all proceeds of which are channelled back into keeping the teeny rail service running.

Six million cards will end up in the bin after Valentine’s Day – and 10% of people bin theirs on the DAY they get them
WHETHER you’re pouring your heart out or quickly signing your name, Valentine’s cards have become part and parcel to the day.
However, not everyone cherishes these heartfelt mementos research has found.

The romantic holiday will see more than six million cards end up in the waste bin, according to a new survey.
A poll of 2,000 adults found 44% expect to receive at least one card – meaning over 23 million will be sent in the UK.
But of these, 28% admit they will most likely put the cards they receive in waste bins rather than recycling them correctly or keeping them, leading to 6.6 million ending up in landfill.
And Valentine’s Day sentimentality fails to last long for many, as 10% will throw away a card either on the day or the day after receiving it.
The study also found of those who have ever received a Valentine’s card, only 31% always recycle their cards afterwards.
But cards aren’t the only Valentine’s-themed items to end up in the waste bin rather than being recycled.
Of those who expect to receive a gift, 34% are likely to put flowers straight in the bin rather than dispose of them sustainably, such as in the compost or garden waste.
While 30% admit chocolate boxes and even the chocolates themselves (23%) will simply end up in waste bins.
“Valentine’s Day is the second-biggest holiday for giving out cards after Christmas, and we need to make sure we are being ‘green’ on the day, as well as the traditional red,” said Samantha Upham, senior sustainability manager at DS Smith,
The international packaging company commissioned the research.
“Packaging for flowers, chocolates, and cards can be saved from ending up in landfill and incineration, but many aren’t aware of what they can and can’t recycle,” the expert explained.
“[This] is just one of the reasons UK recycling rates have not really improved in recent years.
“We’re calling on gift-givers to challenge themselves to seek out products that not only use paper-based packaging substitutes in place of plastic, but also less packaging overall.”
However, the research shows that attitudes towards waste are changing.
A large majority, totalling 81% of respondents, believe celebrations like birthdays, Christmas and Valentine’s Day are a negative contributor to environmental waste.

Meanwhile, more than one in five would consider giving a digital card instead of a physical one, a more environmentally friendly option.
In general, two-thirds of those polled, via OnePoll, think more should be done in the UK to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
With 42% claiming it would give them the “ick” if their partner didn’t recycle.
Despite this, only 28% consider themselves “very good” at recycling, while 24% think disposal instructions aren’t clear enough on product packaging.
“Love shouldn’t cost the Earth, and that’s why recycling properly this Valentine’s Day is so important,” Samantha added.
“Clearly people want to do their best when it comes to recycling, but often they simply don’t know how to recycle certain items.
“If you’re unsure about what to do with your Valentine’s Day packaging or unwanted gifts, look up your local recycling rules and bin collection schedules.”

Who is kayaker Adrián Simancas? What we know about the man swallowed by a humpback whale
A FATHER has captured the terrifying moment his son was swallowed whole by a 50,000lb humpback whale before being spat out.
The shocking event took place in February 2025 off the coast of Punta Arenas in Southern Chile – here’s everything you need to know.

Who is kayaker Adrián Simancas?
On February 8, 2025, Adrian Simancas, 24, was kayaking off the coast of Punta Arenas when he was swallowed whole and spat out by a 50ft humpback whale.
The kayaker had taken to the water alongside his father Dell, 49, when the horrifying incident occurred.
The 24-year-old, who was paddling in his inflatable yellow kayak at around 3 pm, had not spotted the whale until part of its mouth emerged from the water.
Without warning, the animal trapped the young man and his yellow kayak in its mouth.
His father Dell, who accidentally filmed the terrifying ordeal from just metres away, helplessly watched on before the whale spat Adrian out a few seconds later.
Footage captured by Dell shows the moment the jaws of the animal suddenly breached the water and closed on top of the kayaker.
Despite the terrifying experience, Dell could be heard reassuring his son, saying: ”Stay calm, stay calm, don’t get back into the boat, head for the shoreline, I’m coming.”
Once the whale disappeared from view, the pair were able to safely steer away from the area.
Despite the scare, Adrian and Dell were both unharmed.
Moment of panic
Adrian has since spoken out about the shocking moment.
He told CNN: “I felt a slimy texture, I thought I was going to die.”
The kayaker continued: ”Half an hour before, I saw a small jet of water shooting out, then I felt a blow coming from behind, which lifted me up a little. I thought it could be a wave, but it was too strong.
“Then, when I turned around, I felt a slimy texture on my face and I saw colours like dark blue, white and something approaching from behind that closed in on me and made me sink.
“At that moment I thought that it had eaten me, that it had swallowed me.”

Adrian only realised what had happened when he returned to the surface of the water.
“When I got out and started to float there I was really afraid something would happen to my dad too,” he said.
“That we wouldn’t have reached the shore in time and I would get hypothermia.”
Speaking to CNN, Adrian added: ”Whales do not swallow people, they have a very small oesophagus and a mechanism by which they rise to the surface and grab everything they find.
“They leave what is useful in their mouths and spit out the rest.”
Dell also recalled the scare, telling a Chilean TV programme: “I turned round and I couldn’t see Adrian, and that was the only real moment of panic.
“He disappeared for about three seconds and then shot out and that’s when I calmed down because I saw he was safe.”

‘She’s not with me’ – Jack Grealish pictured leaving swanky restaurant at the same time as mystery blonde
JACK GREALISH shouted “she’s not with me” after being pictured leaving a swanky restaurant at the same time as a mystery blonde.
The Manchester City star was all smiles as he departed Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone on Wednesday night.

Grealish looked to be in good spirits just a day after coming off injured in City’s 3-2 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
And the ex-Aston Villa star was spotted leaving the popular celeb hangout as a mystery woman walked behind him.
Another man, believed to be former Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs’ twin brother Jaydon, was situated between them.
The Mail claims she “accompanied” Grealish on his way out.
While a source said the pair “looked cosy” at the bar before trying to make a “low key exit.”
But outside, Grealish was heard shouting: “She’s not with me.”
He then reportedly went back inside Chiltern Firehouse before coming out again completely alone.
Grealish completed his exit by “sneaking” into a chauffeur-driven car.
And it remains unclear whether he will be involved in Man City’s Premier League clash against Newcastle tomorrow.
Other celebrities at the venue that night are said to have included Mark Ruffalo, Ellie Bamber, Morena Baccarin and Jamie Carragher.

Grealish’s night out in London came after he recently admitted 2024 had been “the most difficult year of my life.”
The ace welcomed daughter Mila Rose with partner of 12 years Sasha Attwood in September – their first child together.
But his football season was blighted by injury and long spells on the bench, leading to his omission from England’s Euro 2024 squad.
Grealish said: “Last year, the whole year itself, it was weird because my little daughter was born, but apart from that it was one of the most difficult years.
“Probably the most difficult year of my life for many reasons, on and off the pitch.
“I found it really difficult. It’s a new year now and hopefully I can kick on.”
