Wetherspoons adds new draught beer to its menu in pubs across the UK from £3.20 a pint

WETHERSPOONS has added a new draught beer to its line up and prices start from £3.20 a pint.

Punters can pick up the 1664 Kronenbourg Bière (4.6%) across all its more than 800 boozers.

The French tipple, described as refreshing, crisp and golden with floral notes, costs £3.99 at the vast majority of Spoons pubs.

Punters can also get it for £3.20 at most branches on Mondays through the Monday Club deal, which it brought back last May.

Bear in mind, prices may vary depending on which pub you go to. You can find your nearest via jdwetherspoon.com/pub-search.

Wetherspoons confirmed the Kronenbourg beer has been added to menus permanently.

Plenty of punters have taken to Facebook in recent days buzzing about the ale being added to pumps.

One said: “Great stuff. I miss 1664 being on tap. You can’t get it anywhere now round my way.”

Another said: “Lovely lager is 1664.”

Meanwhile, a third commented: “A good move IMO (in my opinion). Kronenbourg’s a good lager.”

And a fourth simply added: “YAY.”

The latest announcement comes after Spoons slashed the price of 30 real ales as part of its Spring Beer Festival.

The annual festival runs from March 5 to March 16, offering punters the chance to try some never-before-seen international beers.

Prices start from £1.69, but some pubs may charge you £1.99 or £2.49 a pint.

Customers can choose from The Wallaby, from Australia, or the Estuary Session Ales, a Canadian tipple.

There’s also a chocolate porter from Italy and “Hey Pal” from the USA.

Spoons also recently shook up its food menu, introducing a £2.99 breakfast deal for customers last month.

You can choose from a breakfast muffin or small breakfast with a soft or hot drink.

There are also veggie options available, which is served between 8am and midday.

Meanwhile tea and toast, which comes with two slices and either jam or marmalade, is just £2.49.

WETHERSPOONS HIKES PRICES

The Sun exclusively revealed in January Spoons had upped the price of a host of popular drinks and menu items across its pubs.

The chain hiked prices on drinks by 15p while meal deals were bumped up by 30p.

The price rises saw the cost of a Guinness at the London and South Western branch in south west London go from £4.66 to £4.81.

Meanwhile, the price of a Strongbow increased from £3.24 to £3.39.

The average price of a meal deal at Spoons without an alcoholic drink was £4.99 and with a drink was £6.52 before the change.

But the 30p rise means they now cost £5.29 and £6.82, respectively.

Spoons said a number of drinks had not gone up in price, including all draught lagers such as Budweiser, Carling and Coors.

Boss Tim Martin said: “Wetherspoon has always tried to remain as competitive as possible.

“We hope that our prices will still be reasonable in spite of these increases.”

Luke Littler falls agonisingly short of outrageous darts world record after crushing Players Championship win

LUKE LITTLER has smashed his own personal best average in a dominating win over Damon Heta.

The world champion, 18, cruised to a 6-1 victory in the quarter finals of the Players Championship on Tuesday.

The Nuke averaged almost 123 in the stunning victory[/caption]

Littler averaged an outrageous 122.96 over seven legs against the Australian.

It was The Nuke’s personal best average in any PDC contest since making his debut two years ago.

And he fell just agonisingly short of the world record, currently held by Peter Wright.

Snakebite holds the world’s best televised average after posting 123.53 against Krzysztof Ratajski in 2019.

Littler was just over 0.5 points away from matching Wright’s feat in Tuesday’s win.

He hit six 180s over seven legs, with a high checkout of 81.

The teenager’s worst leg was a 13-darter and he found six of his nine attempts at doubles.

Littler’s outrageous form has seen him win a remarkable 19 straight matches.

Cheltenham Festival betting offers and free bets

He has won back-to-back Premier League events, lifted the UK Open title and defended his Belgian Open crown all in the space of three weeks.

One fan gasped on X after Littler’s performance: “Scary run of form he is on right now.”

Another said: “This guy is gonna destroy the sport. Next X years he will be dominating too much.”

While a third added: “He’s genuinely so much better this year than he was last year. How’s that possible?”

And a fourth commented: “Best player in the world by some distance now.”

Littler’s crazy average comes just hours after he hit a nine-darter against Adam Hunt in round two.

It was the fifth perfect leg of Littler’s professional career as he hit 180, 180, 141 going the standard route for perfection.

Inside Littler's massive rise

LUKE LITTLER has taken the darts world by storm since exploding onto the scene at the PDC World Championship at the beginning of the year.

The Nuke reached the final on his Ally Pally debut at just 16 years of age – smashing records along the way.

He has then gone on to win a host of PDC events and the Premier League title – which he claimed at the O2 Arena by beating world champion Luke Humphries in May.

He also finished his first season in the World Series as the No1 ranked player.

He has joined Jude Bellingham on the Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list.

And the teenage titan even had to snub an invite from the WWE.

The Sun exclusively revealed that Littler is plotting to create a fitness empire.

He is also cashing in away from the Oche thanks to an Instagram side hustle.

And he’s even the face of a brand new cereal.

But he is newly single after splitting from girlfriend Eloise Milburn following a 10-month relationship.

Check out all of our latest Luke Littler stories.

And The Nuke admitted earlier this month he is determined to supplant Luke Humphries as the reigning World No. 1.

Following his UK Open win, Littler said: “At the World Championship, Luke Humphries will be defending a hell of a lot of money.

“And if he doesn’t defend it, that could be my chance to shoot up to No.1.

“Obviously if I play him in any of these ranking events, I want to stop him from adding to his prize money or defending it. I think No.1 is in sight now.

“It’s another free year. I’m not defending anything. I want to add on and add on prize money to become world No.1.”
