Games Inbox: Is video game music getting worse?

Fantasy 7 Rebirth – a new old soundtrack (Square Enix)

The Wednesday letters page is resigned to the next generation being all about AI, as one reader wonders what happened to The Wolf Among Us 2.

Bottom of the pops
Is it me or is modern video game music really boring? It’s very high quality but it all sounds like movie music and I never feel any of it is memorable. Very few game soundtracks feel like they were made for a game anymore, just its cut scenes at most.

It says something when the best soundtrack of recent years has been for the Final Fantasy 7 remakes, but they’re only memorable because they’re based on older tracks (although they are very well reimagined). Starfield was the only other one I can remember liking recently but although good it could easily just have been a movie soundtrack and you’d never know.

I miss the days when I could hum a video game tune and everyone would know what it is. I mean, what’s the theme tune for famous modern games like God Of War or Monster Hunter or whatever? Compare that to Halo and Metal Gear Solid and it’s no competition at all. I miss those days.

PC in disguise
What I don’t understand about Microsoft’s new direction is why they think anyone’s going to invest in their ecosystem as they go multiformat and sideline their hardware plans. Xbox consoles are basically irrelevant now and the only other place Game Pass is available is on PC, so the number of people signing up to that and gamertags and whatever is going to shrink every year.

Sure, they may make you sign into an account, like Uplay+ and whatever, but that doesn’t mean anything and certainly hasn’t helped Ubisoft. If you’re a PC in a box you’re… just a PC. There’s nothing special about the hardware other than the logo on the case.

Xbox just is Activision Blizzard now, plus a few sidelines, and every new rumour and annoucement just seems to cement the fact that they’re purely a third party publisher.
Blastermaster

Welcome Crisis
I don’t want to excite anyone, but Capcom has apparently trademarked the name Dino Crisis again. I know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything, and sometimes they have to do this just to keep the name, but now there’s hope that finally a dinosaur crisis could break out on modern consoles.

Like many, I’m hoping Capcom spend their Monster Hunter money on anything other than Monster Hunter and a new Dino Crisis would be my number one choice. I’ll take whatever I can get but personally I’d prefer a brand new game rather than a remake. I’ll take that but the original had quite a bit of dull puzzling that wasn’t actually that much fun, so I’d like to see a completely modern take, like the new Onimusha.

Too many and not enough
Interesting to read how few gamers finish games. I don’t think it’s down to having less time but that there’s so many games being released. You only have to look on the stores of all formats to see there’s hundreds of games being released every week. Admittedly a lot are dross but it’s still overwhelming. Then you have Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, where you have so many games that as soon as you start playing one you’re already thinking about the next one.

When I was gaming in the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s (that makes me feel old) games where few and far between, so we rinsed every last drop out of each game that we enjoyed. Makes me laugh that gamers now still moan that not enough games are coming out. I know they mean AAA games but hardly any are that now, as they’re released unfinished or broken, but there’s still lots of great indie games being released.

Lobo lives
I recently completed Detroit: Become Human and thoroughly enjoyed it (I realise I’m quite late to the party) and it got me thinking about all the Telltale games I played once upon a time.

I recently read an article about The Wolf Among Us saying that the second game would be out this year and was wondering if GC had heard anything about this, as I can’t find any other news about it?
Soloplayer36

GC: Last October, Telltale denied rumours that the sequel has been cancelled but they never said when it would be out or gave any indication of when we might find out more.

Fear the future
I fear that AI being the big new gimmick for the next gen Xbox and PlayStation is now inevitable. This is despite the fact that, as you say, there is no proof that it works, that it’s useful, or that it’s not all just a big scam.

I believe it’s possible that Sony is just experimenting and maybe only thinking of using it for specific purposes, like talking to characters, but I’m already convinced Microsoft thinks it’s going to make whole games with AI, even though that sounds like the worst idea ever.

AI cannot create anything new. It just regurgitates things that already exist. If you don’t like procedurally generated levels in roguelikes at the moment then you are going to hate AI generated games with random designs that never go anywhere, landscapes that don’t make any logical sense, and no proper exploration or secrets.

But hey, it’ll make Microsoft’s share price go up and I think we can all agree that’s the only thing that’s really important. (Until the share price then plummets, when they realise no one wants to pay for this stuff.)

HD classic
I would love a HD-2D remake of Chrono Trigger. I agree that it’s a very underrated game, which is weird because at the same time everyone seems to agree that it’s also a total classic. So I’m not sure why it doesn’t get talked about more.

I realise the dream team wouldn’t be coming back to make it, but it is only a remake and they don’t necessarily have to change anything; just switch up the graphics, maybe add a few more anime cut scenes and that’s all you need. It’s a great game without any changes, you just need a gimmick to sell it to a new generation of fans.
Loman

Changing times
Just a few musings on recent news articles… Sony’s live service push was clearly a response to wider trends within Western gaming, where sales of many ‘normal’ games have been falling year-on-year. Anecdotally, it feels like the younger generation of gamers are attracted to live service titles with social elements as opposed to conventional games (despite my best efforts to foist my interests on my young family members…).

This shift in the Western market is being offset by the rise of PC gaming in China, hence Sony and Microsoft’s interests in that platform: if games are selling less on console, a PC version becomes more of a necessity. It also explains Sony’s recent moves to cosy up to new third party studios in East Asia. Nintendo are insulated against this to a degree by their super strong brand, particularly in their home country where they reign supreme (and PlayStation haven’t made much of a dent since the PSP/PlayStation 3 era).

Where does that leave us old, grizzled gamers who have been here since the Xbox 360 era*? Well, there’s still loads of good games out there but the times they are a changin’ it seems, with even big name studios one perceived flop away from closure. I hope us old timers are still a worthwhile target market for a few years yet, otherwise we’ll have to ‘get better’ as the kids say, at these online games.
Magnumstache

*Just kidding. I had PlayStation 3.

GC: ‘Sales of many ‘normal’ games have been falling year-on-year’ is a pretty vague statement, it depends what you’re referring to exactly.

Inbox also-rans
What a weird story about the SNES running faster as it gets older. I can’t say I’ve had the same problem. Maybe if we wait long ago all those Xbox 360 games with terrible screen tearing will suddenly start running without any problems.
Gordolf

I realise we don’t know the cost of this supposed Xbox handheld but I think the point many people are overlooking is that these things are always £500+. There’s a reason the Steam Deck has only sold a few million and it’s the ridiculous price.

Body found in search for missing student, 21, who vanished from pub after cops scour river

COPS have found a body in the search for young man who went missing last month.

Wiltshire Police say divers searching for Sebastian Sailes, 21, who vanished after leaving a pub in Chippenham on 27 February, had recovered a body on Tuesday afternoon.

The 21-year-old was last seen at around 11.30pm on February 27 at Lovers Walk in Chippenham[/caption]

“This development will of course be devastating for Sebastian’s family,” Wiltshire Police Superintendent James Brain said.

“I would like to offer my sincere condolences, and I know that everyone involved in supporting this operation will also be thinking of Sebastian’s family.

“We will continue to offer our support over the coming days.

“I would ask that their privacy is respected.”

Blond-haired Sebastian was last seen leaving the Black Horse Pub in Chippenham, Wiltshire, at about 11.30pm on February 27.

CCTV footage then captured the young man heading towards Lovers Walk.

Cops believe Sebastian went south along Avon Valley Walk towards his home address in Notton.

It is then believed he may have walked towards Rowden Hill, said the force.

In a heartbreaking plea, Sebastian’s family previously said: “We are a very close family and are all extremely anxious and praying for the safe return of our much-loved son Sebastian.

“We are unbelievably grateful for the efforts of the police and all the amazing volunteers.

“The public support has been heart-warming, and we appeal to anyone who may have information to contact Wiltshire Police immediately, in the hope that our beautiful boy is returned to us safe and sound.”

County Chief Inspector Ben Huggins said in the latest statement: “We continue to appeal for anyone who may have seen Sebastian or have knowledge of his whereabouts to get in touch.

“Many of our enquiries have taken place around the river but we are also investigating the possibility that he has made his way towards Rowden Hill and through the new estates.”

Cheltenham tips: ‘He’s been saved for this race’ – Templegate’s 9-1 NAP to strike on day two of the Festival

TEMPLEGATE takes on day two of Cheltenham Festival confident of smashing in some winners.

He reveals all his picks for a blockbuster second afternoon from Prestbury Park – with the big race, the Champion Chase, coming at 4pm.

Back a horse simply by clicking their odds below. Good luck!

Cheltenham 2025 - all you need

COMFORT ZONE (2.40 Cheltenham, nap)

Can win this red-hot handicap for the excellent Joseph O’Brien. This six-year-old did well on the level last season, finishing the campaign with a big handicap win at Naas in October. He has had just one spin over hurdles since then when he was more than a little unlucky not to score in a big field at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting. He didn’t get the clearest of runs at the business end and crossed the line with something left in the tank.

FINAL DEMAND (1.20 Cheltenham, nb)

Willie Mullins’ hope looked a superstar when scoring at Leopardstown latest when clocking a really fast time. He has plenty of staying power and looks open to massive improvement on just his fourth visit to the racecourse.

UNEXPECTED PARTY (4.40 Cheltenham, treble)

Can defend his Grand Annual title for the Skeltons who have campaigned him to peak today. The brothers have a track record for targeting Festival handicaps and he showed really positive signs when second at Windsor last time. He drifted like a barge in the market before getting a ‘quiet’ ride and running on nicely into second when the winner had long gone. He jumps well and has every chance from 6lb higher than 12 months ago.

Templegate’s race-by-race guide to day two of Cheltenham

1.20 Turners Novices’ Hurdle

FINAL DEMAND can get payment in the Turners.

Willie Mullins’ hope looked a superstar when scoring at Leopardstown last time and can edge out the Skeltons’ The New Lion in what should be a cracker.

Here’s my guide to the field with ratings out of five stars:

FINAL DEMAND 5 stars

FINAL score. Brilliant winner at Leopardstown latest when clocking a fast time. Stays well and much more to come.

FORTY COATS 1

FORTY winks. Beaten all three starts in minor contests and needs a rocket to figure.

KAID D’AUTHIE 1

KAID aid. Beaten a distance in a Grade 1 last time and looks well short.

KAPPA JY PYKE 2

KAP doesn’t fit. Has run well in the mud twice at much lower level. Needs major improvement.

KEL HISTOIRE 3

KEL to pay. Bit unlucky last time and step up in trip looks a wise move. Can improve and clear pick of the outsiders.

KISS WILL 2

KISS off. Tanked along to score at Fairyhouse and looks a stayer. Can improve and outside place chance under Patrick Mullins.

POTTERS CHARM 3

CHARM offensive. Won Gr1 Formby on soft and has run well here twice but has nine lengths to find with Sixmilebridge.

SIXMILEBRIDGE 4

SIX hitter. Made all to win Gr2 here last time and stays all day. Will improve and has solid place shout if handling quicker going.

SUPERSUNDAE 2

SUN block. Best has come in bottomless ground and held in Gr1s on past two starts. Needs a downpour.

THE NEW LION 4

LION can roar. Visually impressive in the Challow at Newbury last time. Stays strongly and can improve further. Ground should be ideal too.

THE YELLOW CLAY 4

CLAY rock solid. Won a Naas Gr1 with ease last time and will love this trip. Goes on fast or decent ground and Gordon Elliott is confident. Right in the mix.

2.00 Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase

GORGEOUS TOM can take a massive step forward now he’s tackling three miles for the first time.

After a novicey tumble at Tipperary on comeback, he has gone from strength to strength for Henry De Bromhead and had six lengths in hand when landing a Cork Grade 3 in November.

That saw him thrown into the top-class Drinmore at Fairyhouse the following month where he was beaten less than a length.

That was over 2m4f and he was finishing strongly to suggest this trip will be right up his street.

Ballyburn sets a high standard and was a good five-length winner at the Dublin Racing Festival.

He shapes as though this longer trip will suit but he’ll have to prove it here. He can make the odd little error but he’s got plenty of class and will be right there.

Dancing City has won on decent ground but he loved the mud when scoring at Naas last time. He was Grade 1 level over hurdles but may just find things happening a bit fast here if the ground doesn’t ease.

Stellar Story won the Albert Bartlett over hurdles last season and has place claims if he can jump a little bit better.

Better Days Ahead is a proven stayer who won last year’s Martin Pipe. Rain would help his chances.

Cheltenham Day Two - Hoodoos and Do Dos

TEMPLEGATE (Steve Mullen) has rifled through the killer stats for all 28 races at the Festival.

He has come up with a DO DO for each contest — that’s a fact we hope will hopefully pinpoint the winner.

And there is also a HOODOO which is designed to steer you away from a bad bet or two over the next four days.

Turners Novices’ Hurdle

DO DO: Back horses that won their last race as nine of the past 10 winners did. Irish yards have held sway as have horses that won a bumper.

HOODOO: Reigning Challow Hurdle winner has a shocking record as do any horse that ran on the Flat earlier in their career.

Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase

DO DO: Back a horse that has finished at least second in a Grade 2 over fences. Stick with runners that had just one season as a hurdler.

HOODOO: It’s almost 30 years since a mare won and swerve any horse that wasn’t first or second last time.

Coral Cup

DO DO: Consider outsiders as 50-1, 33-1 and 28-1 shots have scored since 2019. Look for horses that have finished in the first four at a past Festival.

HOODOO: Only one favourite has won in two decades. Willie Mullins has won this once but from 50 runners.

Cross Country Chase

DO DO: Back horses that have run over this course at least once already this season. Gordon Elliott and JP McManus both have an excellent record.

HOODOO: Horses younger than eight tend to struggle. Paul Nicholls and Willie Mullins have drawn a blank despite firing plenty of darts.

Queen Mother Champion Chase

DO DO: Look for horses that have won at the Cheltenham Festival before. No more than three runs earlier in the season and sent off no bigger than 6-1.

HOODOO: Nine of the past 12 odds-on favourites have been beaten. A fall or unseat this season is another major negative.

Grand Annual

DO DO: Stick with horses no older than nine, with most winners having run at the Festival before. Good Cheltenham form is a major pointer.

HOODOO: Favourites have a modest record and only two of the past 20 won last time out. Horses with more than nine runs over fences struggle.

Champion Bumper

DO DO: Stick with Willie Mullins who has trained the winner 13 times. Irish trainers have taken 25 of the past 32 runnings and your fancy must have won last time ou.

HOODOO: Cue Card was the last four-year-old to win, your fancy must have run in more than one bumper heading here.

2.40 Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle

COMFORT ZONE can win this red-hot handicap for the excellent Joseph O’Brien.

Going up in distance here looks a smart move and he looks fairly handicapped under Mark Walsh.

Owner JP McManus has another decent chance with Impose Toi from Nicky Henderson’s yard.

He was impressive at Newbury last time and won in a big field here in November.

Cheekpieces go on for the first time which may help him get up the hill.

Be Aware looks a typical Dan Skelton handicap challenger. He was a cracking second in the Greatwood here before a solid effort at Ascot last time when third in a big field.

He seemed to stay this far when second at Kempton last season and can improve.

Jimmy De Seuil has a touch of class as he showed when finishing second in last year’s Turners Novice Hurdle.

He’s back from a long break but Willie Mullins will have him fit to fire.

Lossiemouth (not the mare that ran yesterday!) is a Grade 2 winner at best and has been working his way back to full fitness after a long layoff.

He showed positive signs at Chepstow last time and is in the each-way picture.

There has been plenty of money for Bunting who is owned by canny Brighton chairman Tony Bloom.

He doesn’t often miss the target and this five-year-old wasn’t disgraced in last year’s Triumph Hurdle.

He came back from a long break with a rusty second at Clonmel in January and he’s dangerous.

Ballyadam was second in this last year from a 4lb lower mark and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he did something similar this time.

3.20 Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase

BUSSELTON caught the eye with a nice quiet spin around this track in at the December meeting.

He jumped the various obstacles without putting a foot wrong and ran on nicely enough in the closing stages to finish sixth.

That was an improvement on his first crack over the track and connections have looked after his falling mark by running him over hurdles last time.

He held his own in Grade 2 company at Navan in February and should be spot-on fitness wise now. He stays well and cut in the ground suits.

This is a handicap now which makes life a bit more difficult for Stumptown who is giving weight away all round.

He was hiked 8lb for winning at the December meeting and the cheekpieces go on after he idled a bit in the closing stages.

He has a massive chance again. The horse who gave him a fright last time – Mister Coffey – has every chance of getting on the podium again.

He has run so many good races that it’s a real head-scratcher to see him 0-15 over fences.

He must be one of the best maiden chasers of all time. He loved this test last time and, while he’ll probably find another way to lose, he’s got to be in your Placepot.

Galvin is probably on the downgrade now at 11 but he’s a past-master over this course and almost won the American Grand National last time out in October.

That’s a hurdles race but we know he’ll take to this challenge and won’t be far away.

Vanillier didn’t show a lot when ninth over this track at the December meeting but he ended a losing run going back three years when striking over the banks course at Punchestown last month.

A repeat of that effort would make him competitive.

4.00 Queen Mother Champion Chase

SOLNESS hasn’t had the credit he deserves for his blistering victory at Leopardstown last month.

He turned that race into a procession, blasting off from the front and showing electric pace.

He jumped brilliantly and showed no signs of flagging in the closing stages.

He drops back a furlong here which helps cancel out the stamina-sapping effects of the hill a little and he looks a good price to go very close again.

Jonbon will be a tough nut to crack and he’s been as good as ever this season.

He’s unbeaten with Nico De Boinville on board and he was very good at Ascot last time.

Us Solness fans can point to his three career defeats all coming at Cheltenham and two at the Festival.

Marine Nationale was two lengths behind the tip last time but his last visit to Cheltenham saw him win the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle so he’s respected.

It is unlikely to be soft enough for Energumene to show his best and he’s 11 now so a place is the best he can hope for.

4.40 Debenhams Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Challenge Cup Handicap Chase

UNEXPECTED PARTY can defend his Grand Annual title for the Skeltons who have campaigned him to peak today.

My Mate Mozzie is solid each-way after a good return to chasing when second at Leopardstown last month. He has plenty of pace for this trip and rarely finishes out of the frame.

So Scottish looks a plot horse from canny Emmet Mullins.

He was seventh in the 2023 Plate and was running a big race in the December Gold Cup here later that year before a late tumble.

He’s run over hurdles ever since with mixed results which means he goes chasing again from a lower mark.

It would be no shock to see a market move for him in the JP McManus silks.

JPR One isn’t without a chance on this drop in class.

He ran in the Arkle last season and held his own in the Tingle Creek before a quiet run at Newbury last time.

He has plenty of weight but his ability could take him into any extra places that are on offer.

The King Of Prs was well on top over a slightly longer trip at Fairyhouse last time out in January.

General Medrano burst to the front at Doncaster last time only to be nabbed near the line.

The fast pace of this race should suit him better and a 2lb rise in the weights gives him every chance.

Dancing On My Own has an each-way squeak after a decent third here last time when Henry De Bromhead’s horses weren’t firing.

5.20 Champion Bumper

I’M backing Townend to come up trumps in the Champion Bumper – but it’s Jody rather than big brother Paul I’m putting my faith in.

She is on board BAMBINO FEVER who gets a handy 7lb allowance for being a mare.

Today’s pilot was in the saddle when she destroyed a fair field to win a Grade 2 at Leopardstown last month.

She picked up like a rocket to scoot more than seven lengths clear without breaking sweat.

That turn of pace will be a big asset here and she can go close. Another mare in Aqua Force could be the main danger.

She moved to Willie Mullins after a 28-length success for one of Ireland’s smallest trainers Miguel Gunn for whom she was his first winner in 28 years of trying!

She’s in the colours of JP McManus today and it would be no shock to see her improve for being in the custody of the champion trainer even for just a few weeks.

Kalypso’chance created a good impression by winning at Navan in December despite looking pretty green.

Gordon Elliott has not run him since then and he’s sure to have improved in the meantime.

Copacabana has been well touted for this and quickened pretty sharply when winning at Navan on debut four weeks ago. He is another who should take a big step forward.

Gameofinches didn’t have to get out of first gear when scoring first-time-out at Punchestown last month.

He could probably have done with a harder race to harden him up but he’ll be a major factor under Paul Townend.

He Can’t Dance was an expensive buy who wasn’t beaten far in a Leopardstown Grade 2 last month.

He’ll have to build on that but could nick a place.

Idaho Sun looks the pick of a pretty thin British challenge. He looked decent at Windsor last time but this is a different level.

The Skeltons’ Fortune De Mer took a Listed race over C&D so could run into the picture.

COSTA SHAKE UP

It comes after coffee chain Costa launched its brand new spring menu last week, and it features eight brand new items, as well as some returning favourites.

Fans will be especially excited to find out that one of the chain’s most popular viral drinks is making a return – just in time for sunnier weather.

From today, Costa customers can order the Iced Whipped Latte once again.

There are also plenty of returning food options, too, such as the Nacho and Chilli Cheese Toastie.

Costa’s Egg Mayo sandwich is also once again available to buy if you’re fancying a lighter bite and is available from £2.89.

Plus, the Triple Chocolate Muffin returns as an option for chocolate-lovers – filled with a rich chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate chunks.

But the most exciting part of the launch is all the never-seen-before goodies which are up for grabs.

Customers can add the brand new Cinnamon Bun Syrup to their drinks.

You can opt for hot or cold — both the Cinnamon Bun Latte and Iced Latte start at £4.

You can also enjoy a range of sweet treats which have never been seen in Costa before, including a Chocolate and Pistachio Cookie Sandwich.

It has been introduced off the back of a recent viral pistachio-craze, the dark chocolate biscuit treat costs £3.10

Also joining the lineup is a new Strawberry and Vanilla Cake which features light vanilla sponge, cream cheese frosting, and fruity strawberry jam, costing £3.65 – though prices can vary by store.

MAFS Australia fans convinced couple are producer plants as they say ‘this can’t be real’

MARRIED At First Sight Australia viewers are questioning the authenticity of one couple, with many convinced they are “producer plants”.

Fans of the show have taken to social media to express their disbelief over Jacqui Burfoot, 29, and Ryan Donnelly, 36, claiming their relationship seems too over-the-top to be real.

One viewer tweeted: “Are Jacqui and Ryan plants? They can’t be real. Do people really go on like this? It hurts to watch but I can’t look away!!”

Another wrote: “Where the f**k did they find Jacqui & Ryan.”

Someone else posted: “I swear Jacqui and Ryan are plants, these can’t be real people.”

Others believe their relationship is entirely staged, with one tweet stating: “I am not buying Jacqui & Ryan’s relationship and feel they are pure plants in the experiment. Also #SuperIntelligent F**K OFF!!! You are both single because you are misfits and deserve each other even if you are faking it.”

A fifth wrote: “Is it just me or does anyone else think Jacqui and Ryan are plants? I reckon they’re both acting.”

A final concluded: “Jacqui and Ryan have to be plants. It’s just satire, it has to be, surely.”

During last night’s installment, fans branded Jacqui the “worst ever” bride as they slammed her insane wedding day vows.

Jacqui admitted she was an overachiever and had high expectations that she was hoping her groom would meet.

In her VT, she said: “It’s impossible to find someone on my level.

“I think most guys date me because I’m hot, but I do have a brain.”

She then listed her academic achievements before saying “I’m not a boring girl”, as she revealed she was a model and a former Miss New Zealand.

Jacqui boasted: “I grew up doing ballet, jazz and tap. I also did a lot of sport netball, tennis, volleyball, I was also in the cricket team.

So I usually 10 to 13km a day. I’ve read 2000 books,” as she went on and on.

She confessed: “I love perfecting myself to a diamond.”

But she didn’t stop there.

At the wedding ceremony, Jacqui was keen to show off her personal achievements in front of her new husband and his family.

Her vows read: “Congratulations, Ryan, as my friends would say, you’ve hit the jackpot!

“And yes, you can call me ‘Jackpot, ‘Jackaroo’, ‘Jack-in-the-box’, ‘Jacks’, ‘Jack Jack’, ‘Babe’ or whatever you like.

“In fact, I’m going to give you a nickname right now, RyRy!

“A bit about me, I’m highly educated, intelligent, hardworking, I’m a corporate professional, I’m sporty, I love tennis, hiking, running. I can surf, ski, mountain bike, run around a netball court, I’m also a former model, dancer and certified yoga instructor and an ex-cheerleader.

“I will literally ask you a million questions to get to know you, be brutally honest when I feel like there’s something that can make you a better man.

“You’ll be required to take me on dates, give me your jacket when I’m cold, buy me flowers at least once a month, bring me coffee in the morning, tell me I’m gorgeous. I’m hoping you’ll surprise me with romantic trips to the Hunter Valley, and together maybe we can afford an Eastern Suburbs mortgage, buy a beach house, adopt a cocker spaniel puppy, and I’d love to have a double his and hers vanity bathroom one day.

“But hey, we’re all going to die and know one’s going to remember us so let’s just make the most of what we’ve been handed and shoot for the sun together.”

Jacqui had been paired with project manager Ryan, who claimed he was going to “live to 110-years-old”.

He admitted he was a “warrior” and was ready to find his dream girl after disaster relationships.

Like Jacqui, Ryan said he had also been subject to bullying at school.

After meeting at the altar, Jacqui quickly slammed Ryan for his “pre-written” vows.

Speaking to the camera, Jacqui burst into tears as she admitted she wanted the “man to take the lead”.

“I was a bit concerned he didn’t take the lead when we had to walk back down the aisle,” she said.

“I was the one that ended up grabbing his hand and leading him down, which I didn’t want.”

She then broke down in tears and sobbed: “I wanted a man to take the lead. I think that will be the challenge, if he can step up and be the man around me and let me be the woman.”

Later at the wedding reception, Ryan dropped his bride during their first dance.

Towie’s Chloe Brockett drops biggest hint yet she’s secretly feuding with ex co-stars after revealing ‘year of hell’

TOWIE star Chloe Brockett has dropped the biggest hint yet that she’s secretly feuding with her ex co-stars, after revealing her ‘year of hell.’

The star recently sat down with The Sun, to speak about the bust- up that led her to quit the show, saying: “It was fake – they set it up and then put the blame on me.”

Chloe, Junaid and Dani were a tight knit trio[/caption]

The the 24-year-old told the Sun on Sunday how the production company’s staff “forced” her to throw the first drink and says she eventually quit in disgust.

She has been through a “year of hell” since departing and resorted to posing for OnlyFans to pay the bills

And in a big hint that she’s fallen out with her co-stars too, Chloe appears to no longer be following two of her closest friends from the show.

Despite being a tight knit Towie trio, Chloe has unfollowed both Junaid Ahmed and Dani Imbert on social media.

Chloe was last seen with Junaid early last year, as they cosied up to each other on a night out.

The former Towie star and Junaid were believed to have been at war after they unfollowed one another online after a fallout.

But they looked closer than ever in snaps shared in May 2024.

However, they since appear to have unfollowed each other on social media and Chloe, Dani and Junaid haven’t appeared with each other in any recent posts.

The trio were once great friends, often seen together on nights out or trips abroad.

Junaid and former best pal Dani have publicly fallen out, and Dani confirmed they’d ended their friendship back in December.

Dani, 26, was left seething when Junaid’s boyfriend Joe Blackman launched an attack against her on social media despite her being an ally to Junaid, 29, during his controversial romance.

Dani confessed at the time: “As much as I didn’t agree with what [Junaid] was doing I was trying to be respectful and have his back.

“I was trying not to be negative. In the long run it has caused us to fall out and we are not really speaking now.

“It has led to us falling out. Joe put stuff up on social media about me.”

Dani was left unhappy when Junaid failed to make a public stand for her despite his boyfriend’s online actions.

The ITVBe personality continued to say in December: “I would expect my best friend to have my back.

“I know he said he pulled Joe up on it, but it wasn’t really enough. I feel really let down by him.

“Considering when Joe him screwed him over I was there to pick up the pieces and when Joe has been nasty to me, he has not had my back.”
