Bafana star: I might sign for Kaizer Chiefs in future

Kaizer Chiefs were hard at work trying to revamp their squad ahead of the current season and eventually signed seven.

Out of that seven, not all of Chiefs’ first choice targets were roped in, some even choosing to go play elsewhere.

Chiefs missed out on key targets this season

It was said that Chiefs wanted to sign the likes of Fawaaz Basadien, Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana for Nasreddine Nabi. Those just being the local targets along side international targets like playmaker Stephane Aziz Ki and DRC international striker Fiston Mayele. In the end, none of the above came to Naturena in the Tunisian’s first two windows in charge of Amakhosi.

Four of the names on the list stayed put at their current clubs, and could still join Chiefs. Those being Basadien, Appollis, Aziz Ki and Mayele. In facts Amakhosi are still actively linked with at least Basadien and Appollis from that list. The one player that ended up making a move is winger Mokwana. The Bafana Bafana star signed for Tunisian giants Esperance from Sekhukhune United at the end of last season.

Mokwana chose Esperance over Amakhosi

It was never a secret that Chiefs made efforts to sign Mokwana before he eventually opted for Esperance. It is was even reported that Amakhosi offered more money to Sekhukhune than the Tunisian side, in a pursuit confirmed by their sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr. Now speaking to iDiski Times the speedster has confirmed his wish to one day become a Glamour Boy

“Eish, this one’s going to put me in trouble. To tell you the truth, my father was an Orlando Pirates fan and I was a Chiefs fan, now you can see. When they said Chiefs wanted me, I was happy. Unfortunately, it never happened, but the dream is still there. In the future, I might go.” Said Mokwana to the same publication.

Hope for a move to the Glamour Boys in future?
