Bafana v Benin: Date, Kick-off time, TV Channel, permutation

Bafana Bafana travel to Ivory Coast to play Benin on Tuesday evening in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Having edged out Lesotho 2-0 on Friday, South Africa are now in a good position in Group C. With 10 points from five matches, Hugo Broos’s men top their group and could extend their gap with another win. The last time Bafana played Benin was 2013 with the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations champions winning 2-1 at home.

The West Africans have improved over the last few years and if South Africa fails to show up in Ivory Coast, they might suffer their second World Cup qualifier defeat.

When is Bafana playing Benin?

Bafana face Benin on Tuesday evening (23 March) at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Ivory Coast. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 and the match will be televised on SABC.

Broos need to play an attacking game in order to take control of Group C. If Bafana win against Benin, they move to 13 points meaning they will only need to potentially win two of their last four matches.

With Rwanda and Benin dropping points, it looks like South Africa’s biggest threat might be Nigeria. The Super Eagles realistically need to win all their five matches to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Will a draw with Benin be a bad result?

Given Bafana still has to play Nigeria, a draw will Benin might halt their momentum. A win on Tuesday might break a little belief that the Super Eagles have and Hugo Broos’ men need to be consistent and win their last ‘away’ match of the qualifiers.

How will Bafana lineup on Tuesday?
