Big changes ahead for SA’s favourite coffee creamer, Cremora

Cremora gets a new home

Nestlé’s Cremora is heading for some changes, but South Africans, luckily, have nothing to worry about.

The much-loved creamer is migrating to a new home, after gaining approval from the Competition Commission to be sold off to Lactalis South Africa, kicking off a new era for the brand, Business Tech reports.

Lactalis SA is also home to some other popular South African brands, including President, Parmalat, Melrose, and Steri Stumpie.

The company was founded in 1933 by André Besnier in Laval in the west of France.

General Manager of Lactalis SA, Herman Janse van Rensburg stated that the acquisition of Cremora aligns with the company’s strategy to broaden its product range to cater to local consumer preferences.

He added that Lactalis’s legacy, together with the experience of Cremora employees, will contribute to Cremora’s long-term success.

“We will continue to build on Cremora’s rich heritage together as we integrate the business into Lactalis SA to ensure seamless continuity for employees, suppliers, distributors, and consumers,” van Rensburg said, as per Business Tech.

Lay’s returns South African’s favourite chip flavour

In other news about popular brands in SA, South Africans will be happy to know that one of their favourite chip flavours – Sour Cream and Onion – has made a return to supermarket shelves.

As recently reported by Cape Town Etc, the popular crisps officially returned on 3 March, after consumers flooded social media with pleas and petitions, hoping to bring back the delicious chip flavour.

A Change Organisation-led campaign was behind the chip’s return, with thousands of supporters sharing their memories and wish to see the flavour brought back. Their efforts paid off when PepsiCo South Africa, the company behind Lay’s, officially confirmed that the crisps were back for good.

“We all love a good comeback – especially when it’s legendary!” the company said as per Cape Town Etc.

PepsiCo also revealed that the Argentinian creamy pepper steak flavour had returned.
