Blake Lively looks anxious as Ryan Reynolds ‘jokes about Justin Baldoni scandal’

Blake Lively appeared to shoot Ryan Reynolds a nervous look as he made a veiled joke about the ongoing Justin Baldoni scandal on Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special.

On Sunday, Reynolds, 48, who was sat in the studio audience with Lively, 37, stood up for a Q&A skit opposite Tina Fey, 54, and Amy Poehler, 53.

‘I have a question,’ he asked the two comedy legends.

They then commented: ‘Oh Ryan Reynolds, how’s it going?’

In an apparent reference to the It Ends With Us drama, the Deadpool actor quipped: ‘Great – why, what have you heard?’

After Reynolds made the joke, Lively turned her head in his direction and looked anxious.

BGUK_3155057 - Los Angeles, CA - Tina Fey and Amy Poehler host star studded SNL50 Q&A with Keith Richards, Cher, Ryan Reynolds and Adam Driver. Fey and Poehler reunited at the SNL50 anniversary celebration for a segment framed around a Q&A, in which the two former cast members took Saturday Night Live questions from the audience. Among the contributors called on were Ryan Reynolds, Cher, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Quinta Brunson, Jon Hamm and Tim Meadows. ???Ryan Reynolds, how???s it going???? asked Fey and Poehler, to which he answered innocently: ???Why? Have you heard something???? appearing to reference the recent Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal controversy. Reynolds went on to ask whether the material the Coneheads??? heads were made from was edible, and Fey and Poehler decided it was almost certainly very toxic. Other questions included Brunson asking Meadows what he said to Sade in March 1993. Meadows answered??? ???Sade, you want to drink some Zima with me in my dressing room? We can play Mortal Kombat and watch the new Menendez trial,??? before quipping they are still together. Jon Lovitz asked why he was seated ???across the street at the American Girl store??? before a shot flashed up of him actually sitting in the store surrounded by dolls. ???You were going to be seated in the studio, but then Julia Louis-Dreyfus asked to bring her service dog. Yeah, sorry, Jon, it???s a medical thing. You really need that dog, right, Julia,??? said Poehler. Louis-Dreyfus went on to describe the setting for her dog, who she said was blind. ???That intense energy you feel coming from your side? That???s Adam Driver,??? she said. ???He???s pretending he???s not attracted to me,??? as Driver sat hilariously stone faced next to her. Poehler said Cher had a question but the music legend said she didn???t have any questions: ???Only answers,??? which left the audience clapping and laughing. Jon Hamm wanted to know if he was funny and as Fey and Pohler skipped around the question Bad Bunny got up and said in Spanish that he was funnier than Hamm. Poehler replied in Spanish saying he was so funny he could???ve been in the cast ??? but don???t tell Hamm. And Keith Richards wanted to know if anyone had ever found the scarf he left in the studio back in 1976, before the camera cut to Zach Galifinakis, wearing a brightly coloured scarf. *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. BGUK_3155020 - Los Angeles, CA - Blake Lively breaks cover to watch husband crack Justin Baldoni joke on the SNL50: Anniversary Special show. Lively was sat in the audience next to Deadpool star Reynolds as they took part in a Q&A sketch with former SNL cast members Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who asked in anyone in the star studded audience had a question. Reynolds, 48, stood up from the audience alongside Lively, 37, and said: ???I have a question.??? Fey said: ???Oh Ryan Reynolds, how's it going???? to which the actor deadpanned: ???Great - why, what have you heard???? - in a subtle nod to the months of headlines. As the audience laughed, Reynolds then asked his joke question about the infamous Conehead characters that appeared on SNL and if the costumes were edible. After being told by Fey they were not, Reynolds admitted he may have taken a nibble on them backstage and Fey and Poehler urged him to go to the hospital as the costumes were decades old. While Reynolds was standing with his exchange with the pair Lively sat to his left while they were surrounded by such stars as Steve Spielberg, Cher, Kevin Costner, Bad Bunny and Anya Taylor-Joy. The outing marked the first time in two months Lively has been seen in public since the scandal with Baldoni, 41, erupting late last year. Lively and Reynolds put on a united front as they attended the TV event in the Big Apple at Rockefeller Plaza amid months of scandal, walking the red carpet before talking part in the skit. The last time Lively stepped on a red carpet came on December 11, 2024, at the 2024 Beauty Inc Awards in New York City. The outing came weeks before litigation with Baldoni tied to the production of her summer hit It Ends with Us ensued. *BACKGRID DOES NOT CLAIM ANY COPYRIGHT OR LICENSE IN THE ATTACHED MATERIAL. The power couple and Baldoni, 41, have been embroiled in a legal battle that started last December months after the release of the film adaptation of Coleen Hoover’s book It Ends With Us.

The Gossip Girl actress filed a bombshell lawsuit against her co-star accusing him of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign to damage her reputation.

The details of Lively’s suit include that Baldoni added a number of unwanted intimate scenes to the script, was overly revealing about his sex life and asked about hers, and entered her dressing room uninvited while she was breastfeeding.

Refuting that he caused Lively ‘severe emotional distress,’ Baldoni is seeking damages of $400million (£323m) in his countersuit following her attempt to ‘destroy’ his reputation and career.’

Lively is also being sued by crisis publicist Jed Wallace for $7million (£5,620,461) for defamation after she alleged in a lawsuit that he was involved in Baldoni’s alleged smear campaign against her.

Earlier this year, before lawyers representing Baldoni and Lively appeared in court for a pretrial meeting at federal court in Manhattan, New York, Baldoni published a website Entitled Lawsuit Info.

The site includes a 168-page ‘Timeline of Relevant Events,’ which recalls Baldoni’s version of happenings leading up to and following production on It Ends With Us, beginning with his first email exchange with Hoover in January 2019.

Lively’s team previously offered a lengthy statement to Metro over Baldoni’s allegations, part of which reads: ‘This latest lawsuit from Justin Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, and its associates is another chapter in the abuser playbook.

‘This is an age-old story: A woman speaks up with concrete evidence of sexual harassment and retaliation and the abuser attempts to turn the tables on the victim. This is what experts call DARVO. Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim Offender.’
