I love being bronzed all year but hate fake tan – my £5 hack gives me a glow in seconds & I DON’T smell like biscuits

THERE’S nothing worse than getting a nice bronze glow, only to realise you completely stink of fake tan.

But there’s a hack beauty fans are swearing by to get the tanned look without smelling like biscuits – and it’s one that’s been around for years.

However, Jane Molloy – who’s a huge fan of looking tan all year round – insisted in a video on her TikTok page that there’s a reason it’s so eternally popular.

“I thought I’d pop on and share it because I’ve been having a few comments this past few days asking what tan am I wearing? Is it natural?” she said.

“And no, it’s not, it came from a bottle!”

She added that she’s been using the tan from around the age of 14, and consistently comes back to it.

“I absolutely love it,” Jane gushed, adding that she’s tried “every tan under the sun” over the years, and has even used sunbeds in a bid to get a nice glow all year round.

But now she’s more aware of the health risks associated with sunbeds, Jane avoids them as much as possible.

And while she will use fake tan if she has the time to, her hack means she can get a bronzed look in seconds.

“It’s a wash off instant one,” she said, as she held up Rimmel’s Sunshimmer instant tan, insisting it “works like a charm every single time”.

Jane continued to explain that she uses a mixture of the medium shade in both the Matte and Shimmer finishes, which retail at £4.87 and £4.72 respectively on Amazon.

“Now the one thing that I would say about this tan is when you’re applying it try to apply it all in one go,” she said.

“And what I mean by that is put as much on your mitt as you possibly can – then you know It’s going to cover whatever area you’re doing.

“Because if you try to reapply once you’ve already applied the coat, it’s just going to look really muddy and patchy.”

Finish wise, Jane insisted Sunshimmer has “never failed” her, and she also loves the fact she can apply it absolutely anywhere on her body.

“I am wearing shorts in one of my recent videos and just look at the colour of my legs and how even that looks,” she said.

“I went to training the other night and the girls were like, ‘What tan are you wearing? Is that your own tan?’

“Honest to God this used to be the holy grail years ago, and it still is for me.

Fake Tan Lovers Guide to Applying it Streak-Free

Here’s Fabulous ultimate guide to a flawless, streak-free fake tan that will leave you looking like you’ve just stepped off the beach...

Preparation is Key

A streak-free tan starts with proper skin prep. Exfoliate your skin thoroughly 24 hours before application. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees and ankles to ensure an even canvas. Opt for an exfoliator with natural ingredients to avoid irritation.

Hydration Station

Moisturise your entire body right after exfoliating, but pay extra attention to dry patches. On the day of tanning, only apply a light, oil-free moisturiser to these areas a few hours before you plan to tan. This prevents the tan from clinging to dry spots and developing unevenly.

Formulate, Don’t Hate

Selecting the right fake tan product can make all the difference. Mousse formulas are easiest to apply and blend. Tanning drops can be added to your regular face moisturiser to match your face with your body.

Application O’Clock

Using a tanning mitt is non-negotiable for an even application. Dispense a small amount of product onto the mitt and apply in long, sweeping motions. Start from your ankles and work your way up to avoid creases. Apply sparingly on joints and use a fluffy make-up brush for your hands and feet.

Post-Tan Care

Once you’ve applied your tan, allow it to dry completely before dressing. Loose, dark clothing is best to avoid transferring colour. Avoid water and sweat for at least six to eight hours while the tan develops. After your first rinse, pat your skin dry gently and moisturise daily to prolong your tan.

“I absolutely love it!”

“No gatekeeping here,” Jane captioned her video.

“Love Sunshimmer,” one person commented on the video.

“I mix them with in a bowl then apply it.”

“Omg I need to try this!” Jane replied.

I don’t know what I’d do if Rimmel discontinued it!

Jane Molloy

“I always forget about it, but I need to be tan every day of the week.” another wrote, adding: “Does it not melt off at the gym?”

“Nope not for me anyway,” she replied.

“It usually sticks!

“Only thing I’d say is wear a top with short sleeves and not a tank top because it will rub off under the arms!”

I love Sunshimmer!!!” a third gushed.

“It’s been my go-to since I was 16.

“Great advice for how to perfectly apply this.

“Rimmel….please don’t ever discontinue this product !”

“I don’t know what I’d do if they discontinued it,” Jane admitted.

As someone else said: “I’ve wore this since I was 14, I’m nearly 49.

“Swear by it!”

Twisted mom held stepson, 32, captive for 20 YEARS in ‘inhumane’ horror house before he was rescued weighing just 68lbs

A STEPSON held in captivity for 20 years set fire to his home to escape the “inhumane” condition his stepmother allegedly kept him in.

Kimberly Sullivan, 56, was arrested and accused of holding her 32-year-old stepson captive since he was 11 at their home.

Police uncovered an ‘inhumane’ situation when a fire made them rush to the home[/caption]

Cops uncovered the horrific living conditions when they rushed to the family home in Waterbury, Connecticut, after a blaze erupted.

Sullivan fled after her unnamed stepson set fire to a small upstairs bedroom on February 17.

Police discovered the emaciated man, who weighed just 68 pounds, and had to be pulled out by firefighters.

Prosecutors said: “He was, without exaggeration, akin to a survivor of Auschwitz’s death camp.”

The 32-year-old told first responders he intentionally lit the fire in the eight by nine foot room he was allegedly forced to stay in, as a desperate plea for help.

The son said: “I wanted my freedom.”

He suffered smoke inhalation and injuries from the blaze.

Sullivan was arrested and charged on Wednesday while a prosecutor in court revealed horrifying details from their investigation.

The official said: “He lit a fire with some hand sanitizer, some paper from a printer, and he lit that fire while he was locked in that room from the outside.

“He lit that fire very well knowing he could die, but he had been locked in the room for 20 years, and for 20 years he’d been trying to get out of that room.”

A shocking police probe, by the Waterbury State’s Attorney’s Office, said the man “had been held in captivity for over 20 years, enduring prolonged abuse, starvation, severe neglect, and inhumane treatment”.

The son said the apparent threat of losing the little food he was given kept him from trying to escape earlier.

He allegedly received no medical or dental care in that time.

He told cops that he was sometimes forced to drink out of a toilet because he was only given two cups of water a day.

The son was allegedly also deprived of social interaction, was pulled from school in the fourth grade, and last left the home with his dad when he was either 14 or 15 years old.

Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Don Therkildse told the CT Post: “The facts are something out of a horror movie. That’s without exaggeration.”

Sullivan’s attorney, Ioannis Kaloidis, said: “She was blown away when she heard these allegations.

“She’s adamant they are not true. This did not happen and we look forward to being able to vindicate her and show that she’s done nothing wrong.”

Who was Josef Fritzl

Josef Fritzl shocked the world when his horror crimes against his daughter come to light.

The twisted dad asked his daughter Elisabeth to help him install a door in his cellar in 1984.

She agreed and moments later she is drugged with an ether-soaked towel, tied up and chained to a bed.

She would spend the next 24 years locked up in the hellish prison in Amstetten.

Evil Fritzl went on to rape her over 3,000 times in rat-infested bunker.

He would beat and kick her and force her into degrading acts – including re-enacting scenes from violent porn films.

Elisabeth gave birth to seven babies in the cellar with no medical care.

Kerstin, born 1988, Stefan (1990) and Felix (2002) were left to live with their mum in the underground hellhole.

But Lisa, (born 1992) Monica (1994) and Alexander (1996) – were raised upstairs, by Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie after he convinced her they were left on the doorstep by Elisabeth.

Alexander’s twin Michael died shortly after birth with cruel Fritzl tossing his body in an incinerator.

The family’s nightmare sees Fritzl threatening them if they dare to escape and punishing them by switching off the electricity.

Their nightmare comes to an end when Kerstin fell critically ill in 2008.

Fritzl allowed Elisabeth to take her to the hospital where she revealed the shocking horrors she had suffered.

Despite trying to argue he was trying to be a protective father, Fritzl was sentenced to life in prison in 2009.

Sullivan was charged with assault in the first degree, kidnapping in the second degree, unlawful restraint in the first degree, cruelty to persons, and reckless endangerment in the first degree.

She was arraigned in court on Wednesday and her bond was set at $300,000.

The stepson said that only his stepmom, now dead dad, two half sisters and his dead grandma knew about the alleged horror he faced for decades.

The warrant showed the last two well being checks at the home were from April 2005.

The man’s former teacher, at the now-closed Barnard Elementary School in Waterbury, claimed the school previously alerted the authorities about their fears for him, according to NBC Connecticut.

Tom Pannone said: “Everyone really was concerned with this child since he was five years old. You knew something was wrong. It was grossly wrong.

He added: “We knew it. We reported it. Not a damn thing was done.”

Pannone said staff noticed the boy was thin and when probed he told teachers he sometimes wasn’t allowed food at home.

Holiday packing tips

Jemma Solomon, aka The Label Lady has got 5 packing tips to help you get organised for your next holiday.

1. Write a list

Think about all the essentials you need to take with you; suncream, medicine, a few games for the kids, beach towels, and write everything in one list, which you can tick off as you add it to your suitcase.

Or for complete ease, try Google’s AI app – Gemini – which will create a list for you and help you not over pack.

2. Involve your kids

Jemma said: “My girls are getting older, they’re 11 and nine, and they enjoy helping to pack. So I send them a list, and say ‘this is what you need’ and they follow the list.

“And then I give them a rucksack each – and say to them ‘you can have whatever you want in there as long as it’s not liquid’, and they can take that on the plane. And that’s their ‘home away from home’ items.”

3. Try a hack or two

She said: “I think they all work, but for different reasons – and you’ve just got to pick the right one for your trip.

“Rolling your clothes is really good to stop your clothes from getting creases. And if you’re trying to get a lot of items into your case, it’s a space saver.

“Packing cubes are great – for example, I’m going on holiday with my three kids and we’re all using the same suitcase for our clothes.

“These handy compartments let you separate your clothes, toiletries and tech into designated cubes, maximising luggage space by keeping your items compressed and neatly stacked.

“I love taking them abroad with the family and it means my kids can easily take charge of their own items once we’ve arrived.”

4. Decant beauty products

Do you really need to take full-size bottles of shampoo and conditioner with you? The beauty industry has evolved so much, you can now buy shampoo bars or sheets – which are much lighter and smaller.

Or, if you’ll be popping to the shops when you’re abroad, consider buying some items when you arrive.

5. Get organised before you come home

Jemma said: “When you repack on holiday [before coming home], the trick is to separate clean from dirty clothes.

“Also pack it in some form of order – so lights, darks, colours for items that need washing, or if you wash your clothes by person in the household, piles for each person.

“Then you can put it straight into the washing machine. Do it straight away, don’t leave it.”

A second said: “Aww I need to come and get one of these.”

Whilst someone else praised: “Oh my goodness, these are great for the grandchildren.”

At the same time, another travel enthusiast chimed in: “Brilliant sets.”

She has asked fans for advice to ease the pain[/caption]

Writing on Instagram, she said the procedure itself was “fine” and “she felt nothing”.

However, the aftermath reads like a thing of nightmares.

She said: “Worse than quick childbirth and boobs for me.

“I’ve already cried because it’s so bad. I need some good painkillers but can’t have them yet til sedation wears off.”

Jess asked if her fans had any advice to help her through the 48 hours without pain relief.

Just last month Jess, who won Love Island series one with ex Max Morley in 2015, revealed she had split from her fiancé of three years, Zeb.

Jess and Zeb started dating in 2021 after meeting through mutual friends and got engaged the following year.

Their romance came after Jess split with her babydaddy fiancé Dan Lawry, with whom she shares son Presley.

Jess welcomed her second child, daughter Zendaya, in May last year.

The reality star announced her pregnancy in December 2023 just months after suffering a devastating miscarriage.

Jess revealed she’d split from Zeb by posting a poignant video with her two children.

She captioned it: “Life update. POV – starting over with your babies trusting in the universe everything will be ok.”

Jess shared a clip inside a new home and unpacking boxes.

She twirled around in the kitchen, while also videoing her little ones.

Jess also showed off black and white photos she’d put up on the wall in her new home, including one of her baby bump and others of her children.

One person wrote in the comments: “So proud of you my babe I love you all endlessly.”

Another said: “You got this!! It will work out better than you ever imagined or hoped.”

A third echoed: “It will all be ok…even if it takes time. I ended up starting over with my kiddies last year and struggled to see how I’d get through it. A year on and although bloody difficult I’m grateful for everything that happened as it led me to where I am now. You’ve got this.”

Jess also shared a glamorous selfie from her car as she wrote about the struggles of the move.

The star penned: “This move has got me f****** exhausted.

“Credit to my dad and family though, I couldn’t do it without them.

“My family must be sick of my s***.”
